I'd wager if you asked neutral fans to list the best CBs in the league, 99% would put Gabriel and Saliba above Romero, and I reckon the majority wouldn't even put Romero in the top 10. It's only a sub-section of Spurs fans, Argentina fans and Lionel Messi that consider Romero a 'world class' defender and really rate him. Most people think he's an idiotic, unreliable hot-head, even if he's capable of brilliance every now and then.Fucking hell, I've read some dumb shit in my time but this is up there. You clearly know nothing about football.
Barcelona have in fact wanted Saliba for a long time, so do Madrid. But he's practically unobtainable and would cost a world record fee for a CB.
Him and Gabriel are two elite CBs and a big reason why the scum have been top 2 in the PL for a number of years, are now title winners, and CL finalists and potential winners of that too. It doesn't actually get better than that in club football.
Woolwich don't even have that good of an attack. Their whole success is built around Saliba, Gabriel and Raya and Rice. They barely ever concede because they are world class.
Romero isn't fit to clean their boots. That's just a fact. Nobody with any clue about football, would even put Romero in the sentence as those two. He's miles below them.
You're just a biased Spurs fan who overrates mediocre Spurs players, it's a disease. Completely deluded. There's a reason we are fighting relegation, it's because our supposed best player and captain is actually a fucking fraud. If Romero was an ounce as good as Saliba or Gabriel he'd be a huge miss and we'd all be crying about him potentially being injured or leaving, but we aren't, because he's a liability. There are so many PL CBs who would and do perform better in the PL than Romero. He's a walking disaster.
You’re on a roll what with the usual toxicity ‘we’re gone’ you’re posting every five minutes!Honestly though bad as this is I think I side with Romero over our board and management. Whatever has gone on between the two parties, I do not believe it’s Romero solely in the wrong.

It isn't about them.Honestly though bad as this is I think I side with Romero over our board and management. Whatever has gone on between the two parties, I do not believe it’s Romero solely in the wrong.
I read all these stories but then saw this on We are Tottenham TV:

I thought it must just be an old photo or ai but then I did a little digging myself and saw this:

I was careful in saying "if true" as I don't know if this account is genuine but it seems at odds with what I heard yesterday. However, didn't they just qualify for the final?
Edit: Found this as well:

It basically confirms everyone's doubts about the guy as a character and a captain. Actions speak louder than words and the guy's heart's simply not in it.It seems Captain Romero will be there cheering on his favourite Argentinan club, with their IMPORTANT match.
It's a bad look whichever way you look at it. From the management perspective, his teammates, supporters and himself.
His priorities certainly aren't with Spurs!
That's not how a real Captain behaves, particularly in this hour of need.
Cue Vinnie giving him a new improved contract.Ok seriously fuck this guy. Absolute joke.
A serious captain would be in the dressing room every week supporting the players when relegation is on the line. And to not even be there for the most important game in our modern history? Get to fuck.
Whatever league we're in next year this guy's poisonous and needs out of our club.
Honestly nothing would surprise me at this point. If we stay up, can't find a buyer and RDZ likes him, there's a world where he's still our captain next season.
Absolutely 100 percent correct. I won't like it if he isn't going to be with the team this Sunday, but with the total lack of support he has had from the board, and I have to say from a large group of our own supporters, I can understand why he has probably checked out.Honestly though bad as this is I think I side with Romero over our board and management. Whatever has gone on between the two parties, I do not believe it’s Romero solely in the wrong.

Think though put Romero next to either of them in that Woolwich side he’d look great. Likewise put Gabriel in this and he’d be making mistakes. He makes some now and is quite rash at times, but teams can’t go about Woolwich. It’s about timing as much as anything. Ability wise Romero is up there and big teams will be in for him this summer for a reason. Hopefully we’ll get a decent fee.I'd wager if you asked neutral fans to list the best CBs in the league, 99% would put Gabriel and Saliba above Romero, and I reckon the majority wouldn't even put Romero in the top 10.
