Yeah it’s going to be exciting to see what we look like next season. I think we will now see him bring his whole coaching staff in and start to implement the style and brand of football he wants to play. We need to change the forwards massively though. Sell Solanke and Richy and bring in a proper striker. Get a player who can actually score over 15 goals from out wide in too. Will be expensive, which is the bit which will scare ENIC.
No wide player scored close to that in the prem this season i don't think.
Agree with the sentiment but we need to be realistic
They used to didn’t they until the league turned into the turgid shit we watch every week?
Son did. We never replaced him.
Exactly. We need to build for what the standard was, not for the levels of this Gooner-led bore fest. They used to didn’t they until the league turned into the turgid shit we watch every week?
Son did. We never replaced him.
And it will be not the second league!!!
This.He has some credit in the bank with fans and a board who know they have to back him.
Romero is gone, Tel is one of the 12 guys and so is Danso.Porro, Romero, Ven, Udogie, Bentancur, Maddison, Kulusevski, Bergvall, Gray, Paulinha I expect to be his 'keep' list.
With maybe against Spence, Kinsky, Gallagher.. or similar.
Surely heads on the block are;
Vicario
Dragusin
Danso
Souza
Sarr
Bissouma
Tel
Richarlison
Solanke
Muani
Odobert
Whatever else I forgot.
We need to sell around 10+ players and bring in 12-15..
Reality will be more like, "we need to sell to buy", struggle to sell more than 3 players, then bring in 4-5 mixture of youth prospects and backups.
Really he needs 4-5 senior attackers of a high standard, but that's around £300-£400 million worth of talent so it won't happen, and we can expect another relegation scrap next season.
17th twice in a row is not an anomaly. We are fucking awful and any next season expectations above a relegation scrap are on the assumption that we spend an unprecedented amount of money (without European football), and that anyone half decent would even want to join us.
With our DOF, board, scouts etc as they are, I can see RDZ throwing a tantrum and walking well before we are ready to get rid of him.
I've begun to think, and the League being won by that dreadful Woolwich side backs this up I think, that football is just a bit shit now. They used to didn’t they until the league turned into the turgid shit we watch every week?
Son did. We never replaced him.
After all of the division we've seen in the fan base over the last few years, we appear to finally have someone that we can all unite behind.I don't think there's a stronger way for a manager to bond with players he's just taken over than to get them though something like that.
That's a super intense thing to go through.
Special relationship already established - trust, faith, belief.
Huge.
At long last we are going to start next season with a decent manager who has had a bit of time now to assess what he has and a window in front of him to do do something about it. He has some credit in the bank with fans and a board who know they have to back him. He looks like he is up for the challenge and you can see he is proud to be in charge of such a big club. Pleas, pretty please, let’s give him time
What would concern me is this is exactly what we thought with Conte. One shit summer window later when clearly promises hadnt been kept then he'd lost interest. Both volatile Italians that expect high standards not being palmed off with make do and mend squad fodder.Looking at what he has achieved with these players in just a few weeks imagine what he can do with a whole pre season .
With some strong additions and this guy coaching them has me genuinely looking forward to next season .
And I had already written next season off .
