Transfers Summer 2026 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Liverpool's level is way above our level.

I repeat, we have been 17th two years running.

We are fortunate we aren't being linked to the likes of what Notts Forest are.

Andy Robertson no longer being good enough for Liverpool doesn't mean he's not for us.

17th two years running.
Also, for at least another season they will have an aging Van Dijk playing in the inside left channel, so they can’’t really afford an older LB next to him. We hopefully have the fastest LCB in the world slotted next to Robertson if he does get done for pace. Whilst Robertson can use his experience to talk Mickey through games. It makes sense in many ways.

Squad was only meekly supported unfortunately. Daniel appears to merely have gotten lucky all at once with some good player development rather than actually adding to the squad through the transfer window. I'm thinking back about "experience" and thinking about Llorente, Friedel and Cudacini! 😂 The whole situation reminds me a lot of Ryan Nelsen and Luis Saha actually...

Llorente definitely was additive in our CL run to the final. Goal vs Man City - came on at HT vs Ajax in the second leg

As long as Robertson doesn't get in the way of a younger LB getting the bulk of minutes and starts, I'm fine with it, but how much do we really want to be paying an ageing vet that may be embittered about having to be second choice to a youngster?

Never seen the PR machine working this hard before.

Big big talk from all angles. ENIC really have nowhere to hide now.

They need to deliver a massive window.

Well the sentiment of "ENIC to the rescue" makes me grin to be honest.

I am afraid what they are coming up with, even if we do spend some money.

I could see us splashing 400 mil in the summer and making absolute zero progress unfortunately.
Throwing more money on current fire is not much of a solution.

Cause we did spend 265 million during last season.
What did we get for it? Kudus gave half a good season. Danso was useful. Jury is out on Gallagher but his purchase from strategic POV was absolute idiot of a move - bringing ANOTHER #8 on while it was by far the position with most options. While ignoring need for deep playmaker and winger!

At the same time Xavi was a total flop (hope he turns it around though! it is possible - but 2 goals and 5 assists for 65 mil signing is total disaster. We did not see any of Souza even horrific injury crises and Tel was also straight up not up to standard.

I mean - do not get me wrong - we need new players and I want us to buy new players. And I do believe in our current manager!
But the the current management and ownership is totally fucking clueless in terms of any footballing decisions and it worries me a lot.

They should have had contract signed with a new sporting director and CEO to start from next day after league season ended. But instead they seem to back the men who put us into great risk of relegation. Worrying. Just really very worrying.
It is so bad that I know with full certainty that some posters here on the forum would do better job in strategic squad planning than current hierarchy. And that is sad.

Sure he came in handy that one time, but was neglected most of the rest of his time here, barely played, and seemed to come out from it all somewhat embittered about his lack of playing time. It's not the same as other teams' "veteran presence".

I'm cool with a lower-midtable rebuild year as long as use it to properly blood some of our youngsters like Lankshear, Vuskovic Bergvall, and Moore. I don't think all the moves we need to make can be done in one summer, and filling in some of the holes with youngster that can grow into them seems a wise move to put us in a better bargaining position next summer.

Why people can’t see it this is troubling. If Robertson was still so vital, Liverpool wouldn’t be getting rid.

I detest hand-me-down signings.

You make your own stars with your own culture and standards.
I agree with you... but I think you are over thinking it. Honestly he isn't playing every week no matter what he thinks. I genuinely believe the signing of Robertson is primarily and almost entirely a critique of Cootie Romero Djed Spence Mickey Van De Ven and Pojo Porro.

He's literally a senior dominant voice who will reinforce the manager not be organising WhatsApp meetings to arrange not acknowledging the fans. The absolute poisonous fuckery we have put up with this season people's memories are too short.
