Wrote this in the other thread, for a 2nd choice LB it’s fine.. it’s obviously not some awful player and he’ll probably do a reasonable job in a bit-part role.

What concerns me much more about this is what it signifies about control behind the scenes — Robertson was a Lange/Vinai target predating De Zerbi. So Lange is still in charge then, at least for now… and it matches Vinai’s bollocks interview talking about needing proven leadership. So we’ve made a club signing and given a way past his best Robertson a fat chunk of wages, and I guess that’s that. I’d much prefer to pay for real quality, I think quality is by far a more pressing concern than “leadership” or “experience” but that’s just me… the whole thing is not entirely convincing and I still get the feeling that the overall direction of the club is in serious disarray.

I don't believe for one second that RDZ will get his way on transfers.

It will be the same it's always been.

ENIC are control freaks.
 
Always hated this Scottish bastard because he was low key one of the dirtiest players in the league during his prime. Should've had a few reds against us before he was finally sent off for that tackle against Emerson.

But he should provide some good cover at LB and serve as a good mentor for our young players. Decent piece of business.

One assumes he’s not on mega money or cost a large signing on fee.

He’s a good guy. Funny. Easy to like. He’ll be a positive influence in the dressing room and he can still play.

Means we can kick the positional can down the road for a season or two and spend proper money where it’s more needed.
 
I was a tad underwhelmed when we was linked in January, but since we've spent the last few years building up a kindergarten, I guess he'll bring a level of much needed experience to the squad if nothing else.
I'd view him as a massive upgrade on Ben Davies and a direct replacement in the squad.
If we get a good year out of him I won't complain.

Someone needs to tell him that he needs to treat carefully as he won't get half as much leeway with the refs and officials playing for us as he did playing for the dippers.
