Player Andy Robertson

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

What?

Udogie is miles clear of Robertson on the ball, the way he receives the ball in the centre of the pitch and plays on the turn is an entirely different level. Who do you think Robertson is exactly? He’s not anywhere near Udogie or Porro technically, and quite honestly I think even Souza has a better touch than him.

Robbo has a great cross on him but he’s a large spaces player even at his peak. He’s a true up and down kick and run style LWB not a technical player at all.
Udogie isn't really all that on the ball. He's fairly neat and tidy but he's probably one of the worst full backs at crossing in the entire league, his passing is average at best and he's not brilliant at shooting either.

Usually he just receives the ball inside and makes a simple safe pass. The only time he's ever remotely dangerous is if he can make a cut back from the byline.

The way he receives the ball in the centre of the pitch? yeah great, what happens after that? absolutely nothing. Being technical is when you actually affect a game with technique, Udogie cant even cross the ball ffs. Robertson can!

Robertson is a better passer of the ball and striker of the ball than Udogie! Controlling the ball with the outside of your foot doesn't make you a technician.
you know if you just want to completely bastardize the definition of the word “technical” and restrict it to crossing only then fine. Robertson is a much better crosser of the ball but is worse at every single other aspect of touching a football.

If you expect him to contribute in the buildup phase of play you’re hugely mistaken and under RDZ that matters. Imagine a VdV Robbo left side building up, they’re both nervy left foot only players who like to run into space. Udogie’s level is up and down but his touch, his dribbling, his intricate passing and small spaces play is all closer to the RDZ style than overlap & cross Robbo.

Yes, and Robbo is even worse at all of those things except crossing! Thats my entire point! Even the most dyed in the wool Kopites wouldn’t praise his “technical level” ffs what are we doing here.

Dunno of my eyes have been deceiving me but surprised to hear some people think Udogie's a great technician tbh. Some games he's absolutely shocking at the basics. Blows very hot and cold.

Udogie is not a better passer than Robertson, haha. What are you on about? So basically, Robertson is better at everything to do with kicking a football than Udogie, but he's not as technical...makes sense.

Everything Udogie is better at is stuff that does no actual damage in a game of football, great stuff.

Even if we pretend that Udogie has an elite touch, it means nothing if you can't pass the ball well after, it's pointless. It's quite telling that he rarely crosses and when he does it's a poor one, that's a sign of someone with poor technique.

Getting a leader in who clearly wants to play for us and has been one of the best and most consistent performers in the league and on a free.
Must surely be decent business??

The age has me a little worried but I haven't seen any sign his legs have gone .

What are scousers saying about this?
One game a week this season as well so we should hopefully be able to pace him by rotating between him and Udogie.

Some Liverpool fans I know say that he struggles with multiple games a week now but that's really it.

Btw I'll repeat, the vast majority of pool fans say he was good last season and they should have given him a 1 year extension at least.

They do? I haven’t seen them. I know a few and they all think he’s totally past it. He’s a blood and thunder player and the legs are going.

He assisted no goals this season in the league in over 1000 mins .. including UCL he assisted one whole goal in over 1500.

Which was always his entire thing. Defensively he’s OK but nothing more. His sheer energy and ability to whip one in on his left was the selling point.

Go on any Liverpool forum, most think he should have got another season.

Robbo should not be allowed to leave.
End Of.
Had yet another excellent game yesterday against

It’s insane, letting him go on a free as we have Kostas coming back.
The constant downgrading of the squad continues…

"He’s more than capable of playing enough games at a high level to warrant a good £100k plus, which I am sure would be enough to keep him. Look at the money afforded to the likes of Joe Gomez and Chiesa, he’s worth more to the squad than both of those two"

Good signing. Still a good player as he offers something we done have on the left which is a consistent box crossing threat and another set piece taker, will raise the standards, strong mentality, on a freebie... not much to hate. Sensible premier league signing,

Ha ha....

Considering you were stroking Levy's balls earlier on with this post

I think we can safely say your latest post is somewhat agenda driven 😆
Nonsense, I wasn't stroking his balls, just saying enic are as much to blame for this clubs failure as Levy. What exactly do you think my agenda is here? Pro levy, anti Robertson? Its not exactly a coherent world view is it? Bizarre post

FFP concerns? At Spurs? Our wage to revenue ratio is literally the LOWEST in the League...
Wage to revenue is not even a dimension used to calculate FFP.
We owe 400m in transfer fees to other clubs. We are owed about 60m.
We have no European football.
Our league finish means lower share of PL money.
Season ticket prices frozen but all other operational costs are going up.
Lewis family recently injected 100m into the club but not a single penny spent on players. Why was that?
You might think an old metric means we are filthy rich but scratch under the surface and you'll soon see our finances are in poor health.
