The way the wind's blowing does it seem like Lange will be kicked to the curb soon. Ally Gold saying his role's under threat, a few other peeps from journos and now this.

Thank fuck.

You can say with Vinai he has only been here 5 mins, mark his card and say do better.

Lange has been here a few years and our squad profile is a mess, that is literally his job to run and it’s a mess. I don’t see how he can remain and the club say they are trying to fix things.

Yeah - every window where he's been the ringleader, even when he's signed talented players, they've so often ended up being the wrong age profile, wrong fit for squad needs or not good enough. He's not fit for purpose as a Sporting Director and if it was him advising Vinai and the club to show discipline in January and hold fire on signings then he was incredibly close to single-handedly getting us relegated.

He's perhaps the best example of The Peter Principle I've ever seen.

We're overloaded with ball carriers, Gray and Bergvall are two BC's we can nurture and level up...no reason why they can't be as good as or surpass Scott.
I like Gray and Bergvall and we should still have a pathway for them.

HOWEVER the balance of the midfield is diabolical.

After last season we just can’t risk waiting on their development.

The plan should be

Sell Sarr
Let Biss go
Let Palhinha go
Loan Bergvall

Bring in a ball playing 6
Bring in Scott

26/27 midfielders

New pass first 6
Bentancur
Gray
Scott
Gallagher (will be moonlighting as a 10 Maddison is back to fitness)
*Porro in emergencies

Spend next year gradually putting Gray ahead of Bentancur

27/28
*recall Bergvall

Sell Bentancur
Sell Gallagher

September 28 midfield:

The aforementioned ball playing 6
Gray
Scott
Bergvall

We are in camp deluded if we really think Raphinha would move from being a starter at Barcelona to the 17th of the Premier League.

And no, Barcelona does not need to sell him. Alvarez and Gordon will replace Lewandowski and Rashford. They are probably paying less salary for the new guys so they are totally fine.
Agree and disagree....fanbase defo camp delusion for the summer although tbf we are level with top spot for the coming season......

We need more creativity in midfield. Gallagher and Bentancur are alright at passing it about and retaining the ball but we need more progression. I don't want to have to over rely on Maddison to provide all of that especially after his injury.

A Bentancur Scott and Gallagher midfield would have no creativity. None of them score or create enough goals. Even with Maddison back there's still too much of a burden on him to create pretty much everything from midfield.

We might need to get a loan option while Maddison is getting his fitness back.

Raphinha had s stand out season, but I don't see it.

Would be another waste of money in my opinion.

And yes.
Do you genuinely think he would be a waste of money? I mean we haven't got a single chance in hell, but even if we blew our entire transfer budget on him it wouldn't be a waste of money. He's 85 levels above anything we have and instantly goes into the top 3 wide players in the prem.

You might be in for quite the awakening if you think Raphinha might be a waste of money when we do actually waste our money

You can do all of this without Scott you know, just forcing him in which isn't a neccesity.

Also next season we have limited mins, 38 league games and a handful of cup matches - not many mins to go around either and I'm assuming that we actually sign Palhinha as the manager made it clear he wants him.
