The Gallagher signing has caused so many complications.

It really has.

I think his future with us hinges on whether or not he can play well as an 8*.

His ideal position is that pressing 10 kind of role, suits him best, but I dont think that suits us.

Maddison, Xavi, that sort of player should be our 10 - genuinely creative, players to make things happen.

*Even if he can transition to an effective 8 - theres a bloody queue of players for that position. And is Gallagher of the type of player to suit the role in a RDZ side? I genuinely doubt it.

Gallagher is going to end up being one of those buys that just causes issues for years, through no fault of his own.

We have him on stupid wages, which means to move him on will cost us (supplementing his salary?), or just be difficult, and can even impact us buying players if he is a burden on the wage bill...

And after all that - I do like him. I just dont really see how he fits, and also just cannot fathom why we even bought him

Shouldn't be an issue.
English, decent with PL experience and still relatively young. We could easily find a buyer if we were desperate to get rid.

Yeah - every window where he's been the ringleader, even when he's signed talented players, they've so often ended up being the wrong age profile, wrong fit for squad needs or not good enough. He's not fit for purpose as a Sporting Director and if it was him advising Vinai and the club to show discipline in January and hold fire on signings then he was incredibly close to single-handedly getting us relegated.

He's perhaps the best example of The Peter Principle I've ever seen.

the media at the time and you have to take that with a huge grain of pinch of salt was he wanted to keep Frank and wanted to wait till summer to do business. Of course in his interview he admitted the transfer bit so it’s just the keeping Frank bit but it appears he pushed for the calls that would have relegated us. Vinai is ultimately the CEO and therefore responsible but you should be able to trust your football expert and that expert is Lange, he is supposed to be our football guru at the club.

Huge wages are always an issue, unless we can sell him to a Chelsea or someone

But what are the chances a player surpluss to requirements here would get a big money move?

Most likely we will have to take a real hit on him, and also likely we wont do it soon

Then we risk this happening again.

Yeah but your scenario makes sense but it's just based on fantasy, not reality.

If we don't sign Palhinha there's a legit squad space for two players including Scott but it doesn't seem like that's the case.

I'm still not enthused by Scott anyway, we have players who can grow into the next Scott, just see it as a pointless signing really based on the fact that he's a Spurs fan.

I mean they wouldn't at all, Bournemouth do sensible shit and have only nurtured their own players so they can sell for profit, why the fuck would they want to nurture our player if they're not getting anything our of it? :D
Loans between EPL clubs are going to become a thing of the past, with the financial clout that even the smallest clubs have.
Why would they invest in improving someone else's player when they can just buy their own?

Remember a few years ago when Fulham turned a loan offer down because they didn't want to waste time improving our player?
That's the norm these days imo.

Mason greenwood? Horrible person. Great player.
demanding do it GIF
