I at least understand not being familiar with players in leagues you don't watch, but not knowing Senesi was one of the best CBs in the prem this year is wild.

It's a moot point really don't you think? You're comparing Romero to Sensei when they play in different positions. If the comparison is to be made, it would be Senesi and VDV.
Regardless, he brings more balance to the squad being a lefty, and is an upgrade on Dragusin, who I think will be off this Summer. His agent will not be happy that he'll be 3rd choice RCB, if Vuskovic comes back and Romero is sold, so I would be extremely surprised if he's not touting him out right now.
Lots of ways the Senesi and Robertson signings could change the squad :
1 If Romero stays, we have lots of cover at both CB and LB, but I think Romero goes anyway as he only has one year left on contract (to June 2027)
2 If Romero goes, it maybe that Vuskovic players in his position, so Spurs again have a lot of cover at both CB and LB.
3 If Romero goes it maybe that Roberson and Van de Ven share LB position most of time with Van de Ven splitting his time at CB and LB.
4 Dragusin is a decent defender but not good at passing (with Roberto wants) so he may leave - will Robertio give Ashley Phillips a chance at 4th CB position - he's a strong defender, excellent passer, fast big unit with over 2 seasons experience in Championship and unusually the loanee made Captain for half a season, showing leadership which Roberto also values.
5 We might end with having as CB's Van de Ven, Danso, Senesi, Vuscovic, Phillips plus cash from Romero and Dragusin sales to put towards forwards..... and still have Van de Ven splitting his time between CB and LB which might mean Udogie also leaves giving us a bigger pot of cash to spend on forwards/creative CM (our biggest weaknesses last season 25/26)
I think we wait until closer to end of the window before drawing any final conclusions on how our defensive players line up as there could be a lot of variables

How do you know he'll be a backup? A lot of people thought Dele Alli would be a backup. Not knowing a player =/= them not being any good.
If this is the player RDZ has asked for then let's trust his judgment for now. I'd certainly prefer him to pick the transfers rather than Lange.

We should know by now not to judge players before they actually take to the grass for us. We can't celebrate RDZ being given major input into football strategy then immediately criticise his signings before they've kicked a ball. Either you trust him or you don't.

No he doesn't. He lost his spot at Bournemouth when Huijsen came through the door. Good player who brings some leadership but he will probably hold same status as Danso
