You said yourself that savinho had better shooting stats than summerville didnt you? Thats contradicting youre case here if so imo.

Pep murdered another winger. For 50m or under its a good deal, were not getting diomande, barcola, yildiz BUT savinho has that level in him imo.

Im sure if he'd been playing an entire season elsewhere like Brighton, palace or Bournemouth many more people would want him.

Ive said enough, no more lol

Savinho > Summerville

Every day of the week

And even then, I’m not sure Savinho is the answer to our chronically dysfunctional attacking unit

Well he’s followed by Fabrizio Romano and all the Napoli fans are going mental so it seems they take notice of what he says.

That said. The tweet has been deleted so god knows what happened there. Was it wrong info or was he told to delete it by his source.
Didn't realise it had been deleted since. Let's see if anything comes of it. Can't say I've even heard of the player so would have to rely on reaction of Napoli fans cos in most cases fans know the standard of their players than most journos etc

Cannot see why people are happy with this. 29 year old with only 3 caps and not in Argentina WC squad. Whilst at the same time happy to let go Romero, younger, more caps & much better player.
Its a high ceiling vs high floor comparison. Romero on his day is twice the player Senesi will ever be. Romero on a bad day is twice as bad as Senesi on a bad day.

Romero is good enough to play in a title winning team (we saw his performance levels in our Europa league run). Senesi is not good enough to play for a title winning team. However, Romero is rash and unreliable so has the potential to be part of a team that gets relegated. Senesi is too good and consistent to ever be part of a team that gets relegated.

After finishing 17th two seasons in a row and nearly going down, I think we can all agree that we'd prefer the consistent and reliable Senesi. Someone who should be available to play nearly all 38 league games, avoid getting sent off and just be a reliable presence at the back.

But lets not pretend he's a better player than Romero, he's not.

No I said the only thing he has over him is shooting, he has better shot accuracy and got more shots on target, Summerville takes more shots than him but he's at least getting into position to shoot which translates into goals which is the most important thing.

Did Pep murder Doku or Semenyo? It seems like this is the convenient excuse for players when they underperform at Man City.

At the end of the day we can all talk about if he was doing this and if he was doing that but the fact is that he isn't so I really don't understand why we need to spend big on him purely out of speculation, he hasn't come anywhere near his potential that he's shown whilst at Girona.

Not a direct replacement, that will be Vuskovic or if we loan him again possibly Van Hecke. Senesi is a better left sided cover than Dragusin struggling on the wrong side or Ben Davies. It also allows us to move VDV to left back sometimes. Romero just misses too many games and carries too much baggage.
Bingo. Romero may have a higher ceiling than Senesi but Senesi raises the floor so to speak for the squad.

Which is something that we need just as much of as we need clear cut stars that raise the ceiling.

Much as i enjoy the fallings out on this thread, essentially I think it boils down to this: we have players who have proven themselves not good enough at this level or for our style of play, and need to be shipped out asap.

These need replacing with players the manager wants for his style and tactics, some of which will prove to be not good enough...which happens at every club. The club need to break the cycle of make do signings that have held us back over the last 7 or 8 years (and prior to poch's team) and show the league we're serious in transfer market.

Tl;Dr: get rid of those who haven't worked, replaced with new ones, keep the ones who work and get rid of those who don't. We shouldn't be holding onto players who underperform in the hope we sell them for what we paid. Also, unfortunately, we never really know how they do until they get here so there's always a risk (eg Bissouma who I was desperate to get, having seen him be great at Brighton).

Because we play in the PL and we aren't Argentina. Senesi has played and performed far better than Romero has in this country. Senesi is also far more robust, technically very good, doesn't miss games through injury or suspension.

Now do you understand why?

I don't get people's obsessions with rating players based on their country and how many caps they get. Why not actually watch the player?

Danso will be our starting CB with VDV I reckon with Senesi used heavily in rotation. Or vice versa. Romero is a massive liability and he’s not captain material. There’s more to football then their skills with the ball and I think his time has past at Spurs. I also think Danso is a better defender

Senesi instantly becomes our best CB. so no chance he starts on the bench.
