3 things. 1) Some of them (statsbomb for example) do make adjustments based on the team players play in and that teams style. I honestly don’t know if footverse do that, but 2) you can, to a degree, apply your own knowledge for context. 3) or you can just see it for what it is, unbiased data and ignore it.

right so a lot of the xa xga stuff will largely come from likely playing with better players, in a better system where more chances can be created -

i do see it as unbiased data but applying context is important surely?

I wonder if this has any bearing on Romero leaving - Atletico Madrid always short of cash to pay for new players but this deal gives them a sack full and also maybe an incentive to get one back on Barcelona for taking a player they want to keep.

And increases £ paid for Romero

Was just about to post this. Helps us a lot because Atleti won't be able to cry poor when they come in for Romero this summer.

Where are Barca getting all this money btw? Aren't they supposed to be cash strapped?

It's a moot point really don't you think? You're comparing Romero to Sensei when they play in different positions. If the comparison is to be made, it would be Senesi and VDV.

Regardless, he brings more balance to the squad being a lefty, and is an upgrade on Dragusin, who I think will be off this Summer. His agent will not be happy that he'll be 3rd choice RCB, if Vuskovic comes back and Romero is sold, so I would be extremely surprised if he's not touting him out right now.
I don't see Senesi joining us to be a back up. By all accounts he will be the Romero replacement and we probably will play with 2 left footed centre backs next season. We aren't in Europe. There is no way he has agreed to joining us to replace "Dragusin" as the back up. The same Dragusin who played barely any minutes last season. He'll be expecting to start and I don't see a world where VDV is getting dropped.

I think fans get fooled into this idea every summer that this time its different. Its no different. We will sell Romero and get close to 50m and fans will cheer that and be delighted with the money. Remember we had fans who were delighted when we sold Kane for 100m? But the sad reality will kick in next August when people realise that the Romero replacement was in fact Senesi all along and yes we will have an unbalanced centre back pairing as both will be left footed.

If I'm wrong then please enlighten me? Because we all know deep down that this is the case. Romero is sold and our first choice centre back pairing will be Senesi and VDV. Vuskovic will be the Dragusin replacement within the squad.

Senesi instantly becomes our best CB. so no chance he starts on the bench.
He's a left footer - maybe we play him at RCB but v.rare you see 2 left footers playing CB at the same time.

Personally I think it's more likely to be him or VdV rather than the two of them together, unless RDZ starts playing Micky at LB?

Think he's a depth/rotation option rather than a guaranteed starter unless we sell VdV. Or he's comfortable enough with his right that it doesn't really make a difference which side he's on?

VDV is club captain next season.

De Zerbi thinks he’s be best LCB in the world.

Senesi is there to keep VDV fresh and fit. Maybe they play the odd game in a 3 atb

Do what? On what planet would this ever make sense?

Why would we get left footed player to play him as RCB, when we will have 6 RCB remaining if and when Romero goes...

Yeah that's my read on it too tbh. Or maybe Senesi can play RCB? Guehi's right footed and predominantly plays at LCB so it's not unthinkable, just v.rare to have 2 lefties in a pairing.

In terms of profile the 2 do complement each other nicely.

More chance us lining up in a back 3 at times next season than seeing either vdv or senesi playing RCB
