Whats the right wing situation? Muani is gone but will Kudus be back for the start of the season?

If not, we'll need two players for that side.
Don't think anyone knows tbh. He's not going to the WC which is probably a good thing for us as he would've likely been playing through injury but maybe he needs surgery? Or has already had it?

We defo ain't buying 2 with Kudus and Odobert both still on the books (and Kulu too I suppose), but we 100% need a signing who's either a specialist RW or comfortable on both sides.

VDV is club captain next season.

De Zerbi thinks he’s be best LCB in the world.

Senesi is there to keep VDV fresh and fit. Maybe they play the odd game in a 3 atb

I wouldn't take what De Zerbi says about any of our players quite so literally.

VDV is clearly not the best LCB in the world, it's not even close.

He's poor in the air, he doesn't anticipate danger or read the game well enough, his positioning his suspect.

Now that's not to say he can't and won't improve, but Senesi as it stands is better. It's there in black and white if you look at all the data and I only have to watch Bournemouth to see how accomplished he is. He looks better on the pitch than VDV does.

Supposedly a decently reliable Napoli journalist.

Vergara is a 10. 23 years old.

Like... ten and a quarter?

He was obviously boosting his confidence but he also likely believes he can guide him to be the best LCB in the world.

Senesi is a nice passer of the ball but he’s not in the same world as VDV. Hes not better and never will be. At least not in a high line, pressing team.

Senesi is depth and gives us the option to play 3 CBs

I wonder if this has any bearing on Romero leaving - Atletico Madrid always short of cash to pay for new players but this deal gives them a sack full and also maybe an incentive to get one back on Barcelona for taking a player they want to keep.

And increases £ paid for Romero

I'm sure a few weeks ago his dad revealed that Romero has a 60 mill euro release clause for Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona ......so Atletico could bank 500 mill from sales but it won't change how much they have to pay for Romero

Barcelona always say they have 'levers' (eg to sell forward TV rights etc) ..... but thought they might be going bust if it wasn't the Spanish state backing them up
The irony of Barca of all clubs being propped up by the Spanish government.

There's this guy at Marseille who primarily plays on the right but can play on both sides...

I think Kudus will be fine to start the year, but we do need someone else there because I don't expect Deki to play for us again, and Odobert is out until next year. Tel can play there, and he's a decent backup, but he's also our only cover on the left (assuming we buy a LW). We probably need two wingers this summer.

Tottenham fans - We need 2 quality players in every position.

Also Tottenham fans - No, not like that!

also spurs fans:

"why can't we sign a backup CB that's good enough to cover the 60% of the season Romero is not playing in, without being good enough to start ahead of him, but is happy to roll the dice that they might get game time, but should instantly be putting up 8s or 9s after 2 months with no pitch time"

Historically Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Athletic Club Bilbao, and CA Osasuna—operated as non-profit entities rather than limited liability companies (ie paid no corporation tax) a status granted many years ago but removed only a few years ago after an EU tax probe.

However several Spanish clubs including both Madrids and Barcelona now have a different tax advantage under which top rate of tax for their stars is 24% ..... a huge advantage over other non Spanish clubs who will need to levy far higher taxes on their players (hence gross salaries in Spain can be lower yet players still get higher net salaries than in other countries) ......... propped up by Spanish state as I said
