Transfers Summer 2026 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yeah I'm also having to wean myself off the Bergvall hype train. Sadly think he may well be loaned or even sold when I was convinced he was on the brink of exploding not very long ago. Suppose looking good in the end-to-end chaos of Ange-ball (while losing most games) doesn't necessarily translate to managers that want real discipline and structure in the midfield.
I'm staying on board for a few more stops yet, there's a bloody good player in there that Frank badly misused.
Remember when he called him a like for like substitution for Odobert?

I think it's really hard to properly judge any of our youngsters based on the past season or two.

Supposedly a decently reliable Napoli journalist.

Vergara is a 10. 23 years old.

Argentinian?

It's probably just some twitter guff and won't happen but just don't see why we'd be making signings or going in for players like this before we even confirm a new DoF.

I can get us pushing through Robertson and Senesi to a degree - experienced older players on free transfers we've spent a long time working on that might fuck off elsewhere if we don't push them through quick. Like whatever happens this summer we do need depth at LB, LCB and some more experienced heads in the squad, so you can kinda justify getting the deals done. They're not ones for the future - they're cover/depth for a couple seasons.

But imo we shouldn't do a single other deal until we've got a new DoF confirmed who is working with De Zerbi and coming up with a coherent long term plan and transfer strategy.
I agree but we also just shouldn't be sat around with our thumb up our arse.
There's no harm in doing the groundwork and preparation on multiple potential deals because that's better than leaving it late while letting everyone get the jump on us.

The DoF really should have been sorted by now but in the meantime, we've got a scouting network and a "data system" for a reason and if RDZ gives the ok on players, that's ok.
He may even be putting some names forward himself, for all we know.

I don't see Senesi joining us to be a back up. By all accounts he will be the Romero replacement and we probably will play with 2 left footed centre backs next season. We aren't in Europe. There is no way he has agreed to joining us to replace "Dragusin" as the back up. The same Dragusin who played barely any minutes last season. He'll be expecting to start and I don't see a world where VDV is getting dropped.

I think fans get fooled into this idea every summer that this time its different. Its no different. We will sell Romero and get close to 50m and fans will cheer that and be delighted with the money. Remember we had fans who were delighted when we sold Kane for 100m? But the sad reality will kick in next August when people realise that the Romero replacement was in fact Senesi all along and yes we will have an unbalanced centre back pairing as both will be left footed.

If I'm wrong then please enlighten me? Because we all know deep down that this is the case. Romero is sold and our first choice centre back pairing will be Senesi and VDV. Vuskovic will be the Dragusin replacement within the squad.
You really do have a habit of claiming opinion as fact don't you? You also have this habit of reading what you want to read, not what is written.

None of that tosh you've written above is remotely close to what I've put in my post.

What a weird angry little rant.

He was obviously boosting his confidence but he also likely believes he can guide him to be the best LCB in the world.

Senesi is a nice passer of the ball but he’s not in the same world as VDV. Hes not better and never will be. At least not in a high line, pressing team.

Senesi is depth and gives us the option to play 3 CBs

Well disagree completely. Senesi has literally stood out for the highest pressing team in the league under Iraola at Bournemouth lol. He just won their player of the season.

He's a better CB than VDV. He's better on the ball, he's better off the ball. SO I am not sure why you are saying he's not better than VDV and never will be. We've just seen VDV put in two poor seasons in a row, and you are acting like he's a world beater lol.

2 in so far albeit on a free but BOTH bolster the defence for nothing whilst also raising funds by selling a couple.

Get to work on the midfield and attack now please!
Yeah, Senesi I like and while I'm a bit meh about Robertson, it's nice to see us active in the market early.
We always complain that we take too long and don't have a plan, so this is an improvement really.
I just hope we carry on moving quickly.
