Re Savinho, if RDZ has had a say in this then I fully trust him. He obviously believes there's a player in there. Lots to improve, but at least he's adapted to life in England and has prem experience. We're not getting anyone better so don't kid yourselves. And £50m is the market. We got that for Brennan FFS. Let's just get on with it and not waste time.
Indeed. Obviously a club target but there's no way we'd go for him without De Zerbi's approval.

Could be a Moneyball signing if it's a case of him not being given enough of an opportunity at City. Isn't in the Brazil squad for the World Cup, so we don't have to worry about that delaying things or unexpectedly ramping his price up.

After being traumatised by watching Kolo Muani this season, I'd be thrilled with a pacey winger that actually makes the right decisions in the final third.

Kean is another one that was linked before De Zerbi

Loads or PR crap but the club is still acting exactly the same, with the same people in charge
I forgot where I heard it, but the claim was that these days all clubs have a host of players they track season on season / club by club that they see as realistic targets, through various team cycles. And that’s why, often, the same players come around and around. It’s because the clubs are trying to get the most data possible before committing to spending. Not sure it’s better than the “Dave Pleat has gone had a look” approach, but there it is.

I do think Kean is good not great, but he is a prime age striker who would be affordable with PL experience (and obviously Paratici connection so a deal to be done). Italian aswell so De Zerbi probably likes him a lot. The link makes sense and is probably a good fit for both sides.

Unfortunately, just feel that the level of players we’re after this summer will disappoint most of us. We simply aren’t high enough up the food chain anymore, we can’t attract real proven quality. The Keans of the world are our level.
I don’t mind sensible signings if we put together a balanced, hard running side that can play De Zerbi-ball for 90 mins. Top players don’t want to come here in our current state, that much should be obvious. And paying them 50-100k over the odds will just end up with a mess of a wage bill and dressing room unrest.

Like most things in life it’s boring patience that is the correct path. It’s just hard to have any faith with the lack of footballing knowledge at the club outside RDZ.

The early rumblings certainly don't inspire confidence.

I know it's early days but it just feels like same old same old with Tottenham.

The lack of ambition to truly compete is so boring.
Spot on, and what makes it worse is even in a dire situation it seems to be the same old and then you see that lot are planning to get Kroupi, Rogers and Alvarez despite the position they're already in. Unforgivable lack of ambition.

Oh brother.

He’s a very good footballer that is a victim of PSG having the best combination of attackers on the planet.

I’m certainly taking him over Lazy Leao, Summerville (Dutch Oderbert), Savinho etc .

Can play in a number of positions across the attack as well.
i didnt say he was shit did I? Just that he fits the profile of an ENIC signing (with the added bonus of actually being good at football, ha)

I can sort of understand that we are not an attractive proposition right now so it will be difficult to attract and compete for top players, but the lack of ambition shown when we were actually flying under Poch and then under Conte was totally unforgivable

All the big club have the resources to track multiple players, over multiple years and I would imagine most clubs have literally hundreds of players they monitor.

We need to get real.

Next season is about stabilising the shitshow and transitioning into a De Zerbi team.

We've finished 17th twice ffs. All of our best players are broken.

A top half finish with some entertaining football and maybe a cup final will more than do given the state we are in.

We just need to stop the rot. We are not signing Kroupi/Wharton/Rodgers et al.

People turning their noses up at Savinho are laughable. Then again the same people didn't want Grealish or Rashford on loan and preferred to give Tel/Odobert a go. Any shite becomes massively overrated once they put a Spurs shirt on.

The scum didn't go from shite to signing Rice for 100m in one season. It takes time.

United did well with their 3 attacking signings last summer but who are those 3 players available for 60-80m that transforms our attack right now? Who is this season's Mbuemo and Cunha? Maybe Kroupi but he's out of our league.
