Portuguese SolankeWhat do people think of Goncalo Ramos as the 9? His numbers at Benfica and PSG are pretty good tbf.
only 24. A lot of potential.

Pretty easy to list big club rejects that had very good/amazing careers: KDB, Salah, Lukaku, Odegaard, Robben, Gnabry etc. Van de Vaart wasn't too shabby for us either.
Not saying Savinho will reach anywhere near those levels, but think it's always a case-by-case thing rather than 'big club rejects = usually bad'.
Ya perhaps should’ve phrased it in terms of City’s apparent eagerness to sell and the corresponding lack of competition. Even Tel we had to fend off United on the final dayI actually disagree with this. Good players become available from top clubs all the time and we've been successful in that market before.
I'd suspect that's down the fee. While we don't spend the biggest, there are still only about 7-8 clubs in the league that ever spend over about 40m on players - he'd be too much of a risk for the majority of the mid-table sides. The fact we seem to be the only club linked to him could be a warning sign, though.Ya perhaps should’ve phrased it in terms of City’s apparent eagerness to sell and the corresponding lack of competition. I get they need to sell for multiple reasons unrelated to him but the full optics make me uneasy.
The fact that even lower level PL clubs certainly have money to burn and don’t seem to have any interest vexes me, because the majority of my concerns with him as a player come from whether he is actually a fit for the PL at all , he seems to lack the intensity, physicality, and ability to seize a decisive moment that successful wingers in this league have.
Just to follow up on this again - I just had a quick look on the City forum and they're about as divided on him as we are.Ya perhaps should’ve phrased it in terms of City’s apparent eagerness to sell and the corresponding lack of competition. Even Tel we had to fend off United on the final day

Add in Davies contract extension.Thought of watching Tel and Savinho running into blind alleys all season is enough to make me think about taking up rugby.
Can't register or pay them probably.Would it not just be that their current contracts run until 30th June, so we can't officially sign them until then?
I could go for him, but only at the right price and if that meant we'd be saving the big bucks for other deals (striker, RW, CM). Man City paid £30.8m for him and he's since had 2 appalling seasons in the PL. It's too much of a gamble. Anything north of £25m and it would feel like we're being fleeced. A loan + option to buy would be preferable.Just to follow up on this again - I just had a quick look on the City forum and they're about as divided on him as we are.
Some think he's got a lot of promise and should be given another chance. They cite his pace, 1v1 ability, promise shown in his 1st season, they fact he was often played off the right rather than the left.
Others are just point to the output and say it's not good enough, cite his terrible performances in his 2nd season, and/or think his confidence is shot at City and needs a move.
Some would bite our hand off for 50m, others think it's a massive mistake and he'll thrive if they sell him.
So in short...no-one has a fucking scooby how good this guy is.
Like any player we are linked to I take particular interest when watching their games. Must say noy impressed at all and you don't need stats for that?I could go for him, but only at the right price and if that meant we'd be saving the big bucks for other deals (striker, RW, CM). Well, I'm not impressed either and if I had any say in it I would not sign him, but he showed real talent in Spain and there could be merit in the argument that Guardiola's playing style did not favour him, just as he wasn't helped by being played mostly on the right.Like any player we are linked to I take particular interest when watching their games. Then I would steer well clear of him.

It would be very Spurs to sign a player that is currently out with a ACL tear.
