Transfers Summer 2026 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Completely different players but Id almost see it as similar to the way Bale was able and allowed to blossom and grow on the left wing for spurs.
If bale had a manager like pep at roughly that point in time he would never of become the player he did.

Again im not comparing savio to bale but merely stating the stifling effect I think has been put upon him through the playing style and requirements of peps football style.
Yes, you could be right and he might blossom under de Zerbi. I just think there's a huge degree of risk in it and wouldn't gamble too much of our transfer kitty on him. Plus, we have Moore coming back after a very successful loan in Scotland. I think we should sort out the striker/CM/RW situation first before we spend 40 to 50m on a LW.

Yeah, Paratici openly shat on the Spurs leadership when he moved to Fiorentina. Clearly thinks Vinai & co are a bunch of mugs.

While I'm sure he'd answer the phone to Lange or whoever - networking and schmoozing are his stock in trade - I think the consultancy days are very much over. Especially since he's actually got a proper full time gig again.
I think that the simple explanation here is that Lange and Paratici worked together to set up the scouting team and whatever algorithm/databse that they work with.

Both of them pointed out early on into their respective tenures that Spurs were way behind in terms of how a modern scouting department works (we arguably did not have one). So Paratici started the work on setting one up which Lange then took over and probably consulted with Para on it during his hiatus.

Not against Savinho, off the left he is a very talented footballer but we also need a goalscorer. Can we tap City for Marmoush and maybe Gonzalez at DM as well. If City ain’t using them those 3 would fix a lot of our issues.

Savinho is the kind of signing this fanbase likes:

Sexy Brazilan name
Flairly
Looks the part
Good in highlights reels
Aestheticly good looking
White tape round his ankles and his wrists

All of these features are doing some very heavy lifting on him and his actual footballing ability, still no one questioning Lange now then I see because we know this is a Lange data pick and we have every right not to trust him so why is this a good signing?

His actual footballing ability is pretty high imo. Its the goals and assists columns that have not looked good at all.

I see a really good dribbler
Not afraid to take on his man
Good 1v1
Good delivery from the left
Pace and high energy
Skillset that could one day make him world class (ball manipulation, touch, pace etc)

I think the potential upside is huge. Not too dissimilar to mitoma and who was he before Brighton?

Im in favour but would still like another more established player like kang.

Might help if we look at players that can actually assist and stick the ball in the net. Even post Kane we've lost Son and Kulu with Maddison made of twiglets. Simons wasnt great and we wont see him most of next season anyway. Really not sure other than being a body in the squad how Savinho helps with this. Its obvious Lange doesnt have the first clue how to build a team, how he is still here and seemingly still picking players reaffirms we just arent serious.

If Don Paratici was English , he'd be spoken about in the same terms as Hitchen and Lange

All you need to do is where a nice suit and act busy to impress this juvenile fanbase

We are a sucker for a mysterious foreigner.

If his name was Frank Patrick from Essex and rocked up in oversized shirts with sweaty armpits then he would been given the Hitchen treatment.

I think we will have to re calibrate where we are as of now.
We are building from a very poor base. We are not going to be able to just slap in 11 players that would start for any team in the PL.

With our core group (10-12 players as RDZ put it) adding a few players in certain areas will see us climb up the table considerably.

You have to remember Roberto is VERY good at building very good and functional football teams.

Savinho is crap

Signing City/PSG cast offs hardly ever works

These are smart clubs that know what they are doing

So hard watching us make the same mistakes over and over again

City :
Palmer, Alvarez, Porro, Ferran Torres, Sancho (2017)…

Psg: Coman, Maignan, Rabiot, Nkunku…

List of players who left City & PSG and got better increased transfer value even if its for little while…

With Savinho its simple:

He is not suited for Pep style of camping at opponent box and playing intricate football.

Savinho needs space behind to run and attack defenders 1v1 abd win the duel. Pep style is not suited for him . With RDZ, he will get the space to run behind, he will get the 1v1 opportunities
