Transfers Summer 2026 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I went into sports direct the other day, and it was one I worked at when it was "sports soccer" and ran like a Nazi operation. I was telling my daughter about it and I was like "I worked in this exact area when I was about 17" and it's been nearly 25 years and yet I couldn't fathom that it had been that long with so little changing physically in the store.
If the kids go to the playing park I like a go on the swings, but I'm a tall and bulky guy and forget that I'm a 100kg+ adult and not a scrawny teenager. Occasionally I'll try to kick a ball like I used to and I'll need a knee strap for 3 weeks
At least you can go and visit a former work place..2 of the 3 buildings I worked in between 16 and 30 have been knocked down and replaced with "modern skyscrapers"

So I have to describe them from memory now.
Which is sketchy lol.

What striker can we sign that is an upgrade on the current Richarlison/Solanke combo?

I'm being deadly serious. I know neither are great and both are injury prone but what strikers in the prem are easily better than them? Welbeck, Tiago and Calvert Lewin all had better seasons but we've seen Solanke and Richarlison have equally as good if not better seasons before we signed them. The only strikers in the prem who'd be 100% an upgrade are Haaland, Isak, Ekitike and Watkins.

Every Summer I hear we are selling Richarlison and signing a new striker but who do we get that will be better next season? I like the idea of going young and signing someone like Kroupi or even bringing back Troy Parrot as a good long term play but I wouldn't really expect either of them to outscore Richarlison next season.

This just comes off the back of reports what we are looking to sign Moises Kean. If he's the best we can get then I'm really not sure if we can actually find a suitable upgrade for Richarlison. Ask Everton fans which one they'd rather sign back and they'd all tell you Richarlison!

I'm not advocating for Richarlison either. I just can't see a suitable replacement and I don't want us selling him and not bringing in a replacement. The only realistic upgrade which excites me is Marmoush. Does anyone have any other names which they'd like to see us get to replace Richarlison? Its Marmoush or keep Richarlison for me.
You make a good point here. The trouble is Tottenham fans have been spoilt. They expect every forward we bring in to be on the level of Harry Kane or Son Hueng-min, whereas the truth is those guys were unicorns - once in a generation talents.

Most clubs would count themselves lucky to have one of that level of player in their team, let alone two of them, both in their prime.

We took them for granted while they were here, without realising they were over-compensating for deficiencies elswhere. It's no coincidence that since they left we've had our two worst League finishes for decades.

Nonetheless fans on here still insist that we should be signing the best players in the world, when we have little to no chance of doing so. World class players want to go to succesful clubs, and sadly we are very far from being a succseful club at the moment.

There's a poster upthread moaning we are a top 6 club, and that we shouldn't be competing with the likes of Everton for players. Yet over the last 6 years, we've finished in the top 6 just twice. Our average League position over that period is 10th. Evertons average position is 12th. Like it or not Everton are exactly the level of club we are currently competing with.

Of course we all want better, and like most here I believe we have the potential to be up there challenging again. Unlike most I'm realistic too and recognise that will take quite some time.

There are too many here, who think that after just one magical transfer window, DeZerbi will somehow have us shooting up the table and winning the league. The reality is, that simply isn't going to happen, no matter how good a coach Roberto is. Building a succesful team takes a couple of years at least. It doesn't happen overnight.

To get back where we belong is going to be a long painful process, and fans need to acknowlege that. Otherewise we're simply going to be back here again in a year or two, indulging in the same fantasies. Just sign a fistful of players, and a new manager and we'll soon be winning everything. Unfortunately that's just not how football works at all.

I think a lot of you probably need to take a step back when talking about Savinho (and similar) not being good enough for us because he didn't get much game time for City.

That logic would make sense if we were trying to sign a player from Leeds, Newcastle, Brighton, Spam even.

But City are perennial title winners/challengers. The gap between them and us right now is a chasm.

We've been playing the last season with RKM on one wing who wasn't good enough to even be a bench warmer for us.
A City bench warmer is typically good enough for 50% at least of the PL.
Bunch of people would be saying the same thing about signing City benchwarmer Cole Palmer a few years ago. Or Chelsea benchwarmers Mo Salah or KBD years prior.
