Weโ€™re into the second quarter here and the USA are still trailing 1โ€“0 to Germany, and Iโ€™ve got to tell you, folks, they are looking completely out of sync in the goal zone,
Crowd is stunned, sidelineโ€™s frantic, and at this point the Americans donโ€™t need a strategyโ€”they need a flag or a timeout.

Fucking hell yanks...
He's just trolling. He knows, or should know, that the U.S. is completely unbalanced between the haves and the have nots.

Factor in things like healthcare and education costs, lack of structured parental leave, holiday entitlements, welfare supports and so on and you see that, what appears to be a disparity in income is an illusion.

The 'I'm alright Jack and fuck everybody else' attitude has been slowly destroying America over the last 50 years. The current incumbent in the White House has torn the veil away. All empires fail. The decline and fall of the American Empire has now accelerated past the point of no return.

Iโ€™d have thought Der as isnโ€™t Der masculine as in Vater ?

I just googled it and it is neutral indeed but strangely some countries are masculine

  • der Iran
  • der Irak
  • der Jemen
  • der Libanon
  • der Sudan
  • der Tschad
  • der Niger
  • der Kongo (usually referring to the Republic of the Congo)
  • der Vatikan (Vatikanstaat)

And some feminine

  • die Schweiz (Switzerland)
  • die Tรผrkei (Turkey)
  • die Ukraine
  • die Slowakei
  • die Mongolei
  • die Tschechische Republik (Czech Republic โ€” feminine because Republik)
  • die Bundesrepublik Deutschland (formal/legal style; rarely used in everyday speech)

Very interesting

Yes, thatโ€™s trueโ€”German articles are confusing.

*Der Vater* (the father)
*Das Land* (the country)
*Das Vaterland* (the fatherland)

Most countries donโ€™t have articles at allโ€”France or Poland, for example.

Everyone learning German struggles the most with articles. Even many native speakers make mistakes with them. There are hardly any universal rules to follow
