Transfers Summer 2026 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Contract leverage is trumped by how many other clubs are interested
Utter rubbish.

Chelsea won’t even bid if the player has told them he’s not interested and only wants Spurs. See Spurs-Semenyo for a real life example.
I get that this is not how things play out when you play football manager where players don’t actually have any agency.

Why would the player tell Chelsea or Liverpool he’s not interested?
Dunno if he is interested or not on playing for them.
Maybe he has his heart set on playing for RDZ again.

I’m making a point about agency which you seem to have trouble accepting— in this and other threads.

Personally, there are lots of places I wouldn’t live regardless of salary. Liverpool being one.

I’m not sure I’m following your point. To be clear, you’re saying we should use Vuskovic to replace Romero, even if he’s not ready, then spend the budget elsewhere?

What if he’s not ready though?
Right and if he's not ready (which I don't believe will be the case) then we play Danso, the guy you said you trusted completely right??

I mean it's not rocket science. Our defensive options are good, our midfield and attacking options are turbo shit.

We are also owned by a board that continuously lie to us. I can guarantee you that if we bring in Van Hecke for 50m it will be at the expense of a player or 2 from another position In terms of the required quality. We will settle for the 3rd option and we've done that our whole fucking existence.

You obviously didn't see the picture of MGW standing beside Marinakos saying how pleased he was to be staying at Notts Forest with a new contract ....... but looking shit scared.

Never seen anything like that. And any transfer to Spurs was off with player unwilling to challenge Marinakos even if it looked (legally) like intimidation

The ENIC letter of intent has so far (i think) led to two free transfers?

It will be interesting to see how far and how much they are prepared for the player or players that De Zerbi wants this window.

We have no European football next season so attracting the players we want is going to be all about the financial rewards for the player, after a transfer fee is agreed.

I am very happy with the early signings we have made, but lets not get too carried away with respects to one player nearing the end of his career and one that was nearing the end of his contract that in fairness (and as good as he no doubt is) approaching his thirties.

The proof of ENIC's chest beating will become clearer over the next month or so.

I hate to mention this but Woolwich made a statement when signing Rice, and we need to see just how far ENIC's intent is.

Wouldnt surprise me if we did. Really think there will be a surprising sale or two (VDV, Vuskovic, Bergvall, Tel?) amongst others. We're not going to be funding all this from Romero, Dragusin, Richarlison and the kindness of the Lewis's. We have a huge squad with no European football. Think it would be madness myself but very Tottenham to pivot completely from longterm strategy to short term experience out of sheer panic from a relegation scare.

I can't see us selling Bergvall, or Vuskovic.

Likely Dragu, Bissouma, Richy, Vicario, Romero, and I'd add Scarlett to that.

That should bring in at least 100mil+

Add that to whatever ENIC have put up front for De Zerbi and if those players do leave, then we have more than enough for two or three quality signings and a chance to reduce our squad size?

Xavi was a statement. Maybe he's been a bit patchy but he was close to a marquee signing for me.

But yes we need to push on and stop buying middling players that were big fish in small ponds.

I can’t understand why posters are so down on the Senesi signing because he’s a free agent.
If he had two years left on his contract and we paid £50m, people would be pointing at his statistics, jumping up and down for joy, and claiming it was a coup.
Getting the right player for the manager is the only thing that counts. The more of those players we get then the better. If getting a quality, ball-playing CB for ‘free’ let’s us spend more on a CM that RDZ wants — maybe our first or second option rather than third or fourth — then I’m super-happy.

So why the fuck do we have a DOF??? Like what's the use of it when we have the world most sought after teenage centre back and the manager is insisting on another CB? After they've already brought in Senesi?

I thought over the closing period of the season Danso was outstanding and at least remained on the pitch.

Romero is history, and I don't think long term will be missed.

Vuskovic was named on the Bundesliga team of the season. He has little to prove in mixing it a the top level.
