His family will surely tell him he's gotta stop playing. Doesn't need the money, will always be loved at Ajax and at Spurs. Just go enjoy your wife and kids, pal.

He has nearly died again and he has a wife and young children. He got relegated this season and is clearly on the decline, he has enough money to retire 10 times over with, it is time. He has to consider what this does to his family, could you imagine being his wife and seeing this happen, again, nearly 5 years ago to the day? It’s no longer just about him anymore.

I would advise YOU to think about the fact that it’s very possible he came close to having lost his life and not had any choices to make ever again.
