This doesn't cite where he's taking those men on, as no one is debating his ability to beat his man in the middle third. The point was against his ability in the final third (back line), where he has an even higher success rate since he almost never takes his man on.

For all the talk of toure's laziness he atleast can switch on his world class abilty for a moment, Dembele seems to not want to use that switch at all.
In this age a midfielder is as important as any striker as shown by toure and ramsey, but rarely does dembele have those kinda performances. If I could I would put Townsends bravery into Dembele's body, then we would have a monster on the field.
His still good tho it's just that its hard to see players he could easily be better than outshine him during the season eg. Henderson and Ramsey.

Brilliant metaphor. My god would a monstrosity of the pitch that plus a healthy hip would be.He was used as a DM. So compared to Paulinho who was given more rope, Dembele only had 14 shots at goal. This along with his heat maps etc tells you (and he will himself) that he was used in a defensive midfield role.
You are right about the glass ceiling. That was DM tactics shackling him. To put it in perspective, Bentaleb has played 11 games, and had more shots at goal than Dembele who's had twice as many games.
