Talksport reading my posts or what? Whoever said corners were a waste of time.....

Chelsea – 16.5 corners-per-goal (eight goals scored)
West Brom – 18.8 corners-per-goal (six goals scored)

From our 115 this season how many have we scored? One or two max.

So, you don't actually know how many, and therefore can't compare. But it also tells you how low % that shot really is.

It's a 6% chance for Chelsea. So, 94% of the time, they don't score off a corner. That is not a route to winning.

The site shows the top 11. Worst is at 1 in 41.5 corners. So we've either scored 1 or 2 from our 115 corners. It's not like we are a small team either. We generally have the height advantage over most sides.

As you say it's a low % still but 6% is a lot better than 0.87% or 1.74%

No point arguing a point you clearly have only opinion on. I just see the likes of Vertonghen, Fazio, Kane, Chadli coming up for corners having a distinct physical advantage over the 4 players marking them. Those 4 always lurk/run to the middle of the goal or far post. My question is why not float it up and potentially get to them rather than hit their first man at the near post eliminating all threat for us working the keeper at all.

But it's also a lot lower than goals from open play. Which is also where most scoring opportunities come from.

Off the top of my head I would say 3. Dier against QPR (Lamela), Chadli against Villa (Lamela) and Kane against Swansea (Eriksen).

Bentaleb also scored from a corner against Newcastle in the league cup (Eriksen).

Shows you the effectiveness of Talksport!

It's not even about scoring it's about the non-threat a corner that fails to beat the 1st man has. There is no way that is the set plan to allow open play to start up again. Also all 4 you mentioned were not from short corners which I honestly haven't seen us pull off successfully in a very long time

I think it comes from Pochettino thinking our chances are better if we can force the defence out of position, which we can't really do from a corner.
