I did the same thing under AVB with Redknapp.

For me, the angst is because the first quote WAS true, but with the exact same set of players, it is now, very, very untrue.
Its a concern when either the manager has burned his players into total exhaustion so they cant play his ONE successful gameplan, yet he point blank refuses to rest them.
Or, the players are point blank refusing to do what is required of them.

At the beginning of the season there was a thread on the forum asking where we expected to finish. I think I said 6th but can't remember exactly. I remember a lot of people thought it would be a similar position.
The last 2 games have been shocking and I hope we can pick ourselves up for the final run in.
We are still a long way from a top 4 side in my opinion but I am hoping that we will finally have a longer term plan to allow Poch to build a squad that can challenge for those positions.

I wasn't there early enough yesterday, but apparently he was doing some fitness work with one of the coaches just after the team had been named......would suggest to me he's missed some training sessions through the reported illness and they were taking the opportunity to give him a workout rather than drag him in for training this morning.
Its not a conspiracy, just simply putting two and two together and the apparent fact that Jan hasnt played a good game for us in nearly two years and seems like a player who will be gone the second a club shows interest.
He looked great at LB for Belgium in the world cup though, despite whining about playing there under AVB in the papers....
I dont believe a top athlete cant shake off a cold in two weeks. We are all very quick to assume Stambouli, and Fazio and Dembele, Kaboul, Ade, Lennon, Capoue, Vlad....................are dropped for attitude problems.

I think Poch only wants to pick players that are as close to 100% fitness as possible - even before considering a players relative ability or suitability.
Jan has probably picked up the same flu like virus that everyone in London seems to have had sometime over the past two months.....I would say that's a more likely explanation for him not being in the team.......there was no fabricated illness to explain the absences of the players listed above..........

never met him, but I have seen a couple of thousand managers (I think) since I have been a supporter and the ones that lasted the longest seemed to get the best results
I think its because they found out that he shot Kennedy and masterminded 911 - it's their way of saying they are unhappy.

Two options, and both have been used to excuse Poch.
1) players are knackered
2) players are refusing to do what he says
For me, BOTH reasons lay massive concerns at the feet of the manager. You dont say anything, just ramble on about how patient you are and how unfair others are being.
I can give reasons for my feelings on Poch. Whats your reasoning for being optimistic?
From what I can gather, people seem to be waiting for the summer when Poch will get alllll the players he wants to fit his system and alllll the unicorns will come out, and rainbows and ballons and sunshine all the way to our cup glory and title challenge. Mental.

and our squad as it stands isn't ever going to win anything significant because its not good enough. It isn't good enough with our best performing players out on the pitch, and you want to "rotate in" even worse players.
Look what we got with Vlad and Fazio? I don't think anyone thought "well that was a step in the right direction" after the match.
