Ex-Spurs Player Hugo Lloris

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Would you rather take £30m or have him play for four seasons and then go on a free? He could end up being the difference between CL and EL one year.

Depends on what we use the money for, if we are as wasteful as normal then I'd rather keep him. If we can steal Cabeye off PSG as part of the deal and get another top class goalkeeper from somewhere (unlikley) then maybe.

I think we all knew Lloris is a bit too good for us right now and he is not a Spurs fan so is probably not likely to stay because of his heart.

Disappointing to see The Guardian going with a "Sun" style pure speculation piece. They normally rise above that.

We always knew it would be difficult to keep hold of Hugo, he's the only player in our squad that we can say is in the top ten in the world in their position.

He's probably responsible for 10 - 15 points over the course of a season, but like people have said already, i would rather be in the position where we don't need to rely on him pulling off worldies every game just to stay in games.

Saying that, i think we'll get one more year from him. There aren't many big clubs that need a keeper at the minute. Utd maybe, but i think De Gea will sign a new contract, also they have Valdes as back up? PSG could be the only option for him.

Player over money every time. As we've proven time and time again; its almost impossible to replace an established, top quality, Premiership proven player, no matter how much money you get for them, because of the wage structure at the cub.

Agree. Because of the wage structure it would be difficult to replace such quality. Hopefully he'll bear with us one more season and see if we can realise his ambitions here. He's always spoken well about the club so we shall see.

Agree with this almost to the letter.

Lloris may leave, but I don't think it will be for any reason yet mentioned in the media. This just reeks of United taking another look at the league table and thinking it's an opportune time to get their puppets in the media to dig this story up to put pressure on De Gea and as a contingency.

For those that are so convinced that he will leave...
..he signed a five year deal last summer.

What do you think it would cost to buy him out of that contract from Tottenham with Levy, as a world class goalkeeper? 30m has been mentioned, but that is far too low when the above is considered.
North of 50m I'd say.

Who has that money to spend? Forget the English clubs, we won't sell to them..

So, who then? 50m..

I'll add here what I wrote in transferthread:

Lloris has already refused to go to PSG, so that won't happen. Bayern? They have Neuer. Barcelona have Ter Stegen who looks to be their hope for the future, Real want De Gea who would be sensible from their position.

The talk is about Champions League. What about the Premier League? It is the league with the most number of teams of good quality, full crowds everywhere.

In Spain there are basically two teams that could afford him, they most likely won't be going for him. No Italian teams can afford him. No teams outside of Bayern would make sense in Germany, as the rest of the teams are not really a step up beside a year (not guaranteed) in the Champions League. Would he go to Wolfsburg? Schalke? No, it makes no sense.

If we have to relie on a keeper to get CL football then we dont deserve to be in the CL. I love Loris but for 30mil i would let him go. Vorm + 1-2 new defender can do just as good of a job. You relie on the goalkeeper in occastions like grand finals, penalty shootouts, big derby games. Then they can save your ass, but when our keeper is rememberd saving our ass vs teams that are bottom half and fighting for survival then the rest of our team needs more strengthening.
I hope Loris wants to stay, but if theres the slightest hint that he wants to leave then let him go.

Look at Verts, we where all shitting our pants when he wanted to leave for CL football. We kept him and he lost motivation and drive. He went from being one of the best defenders and regulars in the bpl dream team, to an a average player..

A lot of players(especially Spurs) sign new extension a year or 2 before they were sold.

PSG will definitely be interested if he is available. That's probably the only position that they don't have a world class player. If De Gea is staying with Man Utd, Real will be interested too.

Buffon was sold for like 30m, a world record fee for a gk. Transfer fee has since went up, Lloris will probably cost 40m or so.

100 percent gone. The bloke deserves to be playing at the highest level. Truly world class, it's been an honour to have him at our club. He has given us 3 seasons, he has signed an extension to his contract so we can get top dollar. The bloke can do no more. Anyone thinking he will still be here next season needs to take their head out there arse. I really hope we get to see him for the last few games. I have a horrible feeling we may not, but I hope we do. He deserves a great send off.
It's been a fucking honour hugo!

Would be interested to see how much we can get for him. The man deserves Champs league and I'm not so sure we can give that to him in his prime.

That said, he seems very comfortable here and acts like he wants to take Spurs to the next level.
