I agree that we need a winger who can consistently beat a man. In fact 2-3 of them would be nice.

But more than that we need wingers, who understand, that true wingplay is often played off the ball and that it's imperative to be willing to make runs off the ball.

Take Lamela and Townsend. It's not that they can't beat a man. It's rather, that they constantly stand around near the byline, not nearly deep enough, waiting to get the ball in a static position. It's so very easy to defend against

One of my mates who follows Inter and watches a lot of Seria A told me that Iturbe isn't all that. He's fast, can dribble and shoot, but he's also very rash and takes many wrong decisions.

I genuinely believe you're just regurgitating names we've been linked with.
Obviously, as thats whats comparable

Have you actually watched any of the players you mentioned?
5 of the 6 played in the PL, and the other was Lavezzi...fairly renowned.
I dont watch them every week, but who does? Who watched Schniderlin extensively every week when they were pining for him? Or Bony?

In fact, how many of the people here, putting all our eggs in Pritchard, Carroll, Alli and Onomahs baskets have actually seen any of them play more than 10 minutes of football if at all...?

The key here, is that Ive seen Lamela play week in week out, and he´s rubbish.

oh well, Iturbe came to Porto with the nickname of New Messi. But unfortunately he almost didn't played for us. Vitor Pereira the coach at the time didn't fancy him. He was then loaned to Argentina where i don't know how he spell there was, he played a lot of games tho. Then he came back, had a fantastic pre-season with great goals and we all thought that he was going to have his season as starter for us. Buuuuuuuuuuut he was loaned to Verona in Italy, with a 15M clause. He did awesome in a team fighting for relegation. Think Townsend but with a end product. Or Salah with a great long shot. He did an awesome season there, Verona paid Porto 15M and the fuckers sold in the same month to Roma for 30M or something like that. Big clubs in Italy love him. He's fast as fuck and can take a man and shoot. Don't know if he's bounded to Premier League football, but the guy is a good player for sure.

But if we want a player like Iturbe why not Hulk? :ledleylick::avbdamn:

Think Townsend with an end product?
Think Townsend.

"Iturbe is 0-29 in goals-shots taken and his shooting accuracy of 17.2 per cent exemplifies the struggles he is suffering at Roma."

Sounds like he'll fit right in.

I haven't seen anyone suggest putting all our eggs in the Pritchard basket, and Carroll has hardly been mentioned, let alone the other 2. Who has said that?

I see a lot of people saying don't keep bringing in average players, or players no better than what we already have. We have a lot of very talented young players coming through, and they should get a chance.

When I suggested signing 2 AMs, 2 strikers and a CM (3 of which I said need to first team material, the other two as squad cover) it was shot down as excessive.
So I can only assume that those who think so are happy with the likes of Pritchard, Onamah, Carroll and Alli as matchday squad or first team material. Even Lennon was brought up as a reason not sign more attacking mids.

So. I guess those people.

I see a lot of people saying don't keep bringing in average players, or players no better than what we already have.

That was my theory last season when I argued for half a year that we should rotate. It was shot down and the squad was deemed not good enough and thats why the manager was forced to play the same players.
I dont think selling Capoue and Stambouli and trying to sign McCarthy is good business at all.

But we have a manger who we know doesnt play people once he has decided its over, so of course, we have to replace those he sold. However, Id still be happier to sign Berahino or Moses than rely on Carroll or Pritchard should Eriksen or Chadli get injured.

We have a lot of very talented young players coming through, and they should get a chance.
Im all for giving untried youth a chance, but you would have to be an extremely naive manager to think that they will hold down a top 6 PL spot over the course of a season when used in 4 or 5 key positions.

What team does that? These players need to be bedded in in the CC, FA and EL.

Anyone watch Roma/Real Madrid? Iturbe looked real good when he come on. Game ended 0-0 at 90 minutes and it's gone to penalties now.
