Do you also see 2 points from 12 as a a good start to the season

And do you also see the existing squad capable of challenging the top 4
I don't think the results were fair to the performances on the pitch, as I've said elsewhere. We've been quite unlucky.

I don't think the goal this year is to get into the top 4, and it's a very tall ask given what we're up against in terms of resource disparity. That being said, I think two of the current top 4 look very weak based on the first 4 games, so we could be in for a 2011-2012 kind of season.

1) we got rid of as much deadwood as humanly possible (and still may finish the job).

This is the only one I can agree with. We signed players early, but not necessarily the ones we needed. Everyone we brought in early was a luxury pick or backup. Our positions of absolute NEED were striker, wing and CDM. We got a few speedy winger/forwards but not in time for them to have an impact on any of our first four matches. We have yet to acquire a CDM or true striker.

For your third point -- I think that remains to be seen, as only one of our Summer signings has even seen the field in a competitive fixture for Spurs.

Okay, could someone update me? Been of the grid for hours.

Is Wanyama happening?
Any news on Berahino or Austin?
Any chances of a late swoop for Yarmolenko?
Is Ade and Lamela staying?

Even though Chadli, Son and N'Jie have never played as a central striker? Well all I can say is I couldn't disagree more and will leave it at that.
From http://frenchfootballweekly.com/201...and-tottenham-hotspur-a-match-made-in-heaven/

'So far Mauricio Pochettino has not strengthened in the wide areas and it would be safe to assume that Spurs see N’Jie’s immediate future on the wing as he adapts to the Premier League.

This makes a lot of sense because it won’t put too much pressure on N’Jie to hit the ground running straight away because the goalscoring onus will still be on Kane. Furthermore it’s not exactly as if he is going to be wasted on the wing. N’Jie boasts tremendous pace and already in his young career has shown the willingness to track back and help his defence out. In Pochettino’s system it is important that the team is ready to attack and counter-attack with pace and N’Jie can do that.

The one problem that might arise is that despite his dribbling talent he can be maddeningly frustrating with his end product. So often he will choose to shoot when the pass is the better option, and vice versa, and he will have to improve his chance creation if he is to join Spurs. Having said that, Pochettino has shown that he is willing to be patient with young players and help them develop their game.'

I don't think we're gonna see too much of Mr Clinton as a centre forward in the short term. A period on the wings would allow him to use that pace we all have been crying out for and hopefully it will mean a more scrutiny free bedding in period for when he inevitably fucks up. I doubt that very much with some of our fans.

Erm... technically N'jie is a striker. :freund:

Do we have one striker, of four? Im not sure. Everyone says one, but I count four. It will be a faliure if dont sign a defensive mid. But who is there to sign?

Whilst he isn't being played there, Trippier IMO is superior in every way to Walker and should be in the team. Alderweireld is a first choice pick in defence and better than any of our options apart from Jan.

Agree that our main priorities haven't been addressed though.

What if...

We don't sign anyone?:pochwtf:

I'm on day three of baking a huge turd to send to Levy. Started off with a base of boiled eggs and Dundee cake on Saturday. Some roughage early Sunday followed by a huge Sunday Lunch with added cabbage. 4 Egg mcmuffins for breakfast today followed by grazing on peanuts and corn on the cob with KFC gravy. Rustlers microwave burgers for dinner to booster the foulage with extra consistency and an all day diet of fray bentos pies tomorrow.

Levy won't know what hit him when he opens that shoebox.
