Ex-Spurs Player Christian Eriksen

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Fuck off, they're a team.

Fuck off, because I don't think Eriksen has been our most important player? lmao, wtf.

Someone asked if he was important. I say not as important as others. "Fuck off". Really? How does that even add up?

Go back a month and people on this site were saying he was shit hahah, I say he's not our most important player and its melt galore.

See, that's where I can tell you to check the record, because I was never one of those people. Even when he wasn't having the joy of good "form", Eriksen was still creating an amazing number of chances, and I stuck by him.

Just because there are a lot of assholes on here that couldn't see what he brought to this team doesn't make you right. He is absolutely critical to our team, and always has been this season.

Cool, how many has he been MOTM in?
He has had a couple, but don't see how that is proof of anything it is so subjective.
Take the Citeh game this weekend, BBC had Dier MOTM, Sky had Dembele, The Mirror had Rose, The Gaurdian had Eriksen, Oh and Spurs supporters voted Eriksen.

One fact remains, Poch has him as one of our most important players as he never leaves him out of the team.

I seem to remember Eriksen getting injured early in the season, he played against UTD then didn't feature for a bit. Surely it's taken a few months to start playing into form again. He is one of our key players and his recent assists and goals show that.

We are too quick to jump on players backs after a dip in form, are we forgetting these are young players who aren't likely to be on top of their game every week.

Of course he is important, he is our best dead ball specialist, also that goal alone against City how much is that worth in memories and points?

When did I say he wasn't important?

"Is Eriksen our most important player"
"No, others come before him"

Cue melting. Not quite sure I follow.

Yes the likes of Lloris, Toby, Kane maybe first names on the team sheet. However Eriksen is a key component to our attacking midfield. Our strongest line up includes him. If he's not picked we look weaker for it.

Said it before and I'll say it again. Eriksen plays for half a season.

Your suggestion that for half of the season he does not turn up, ergo 'not important'. In that case I'd be concerned about our midfield without him. Three names I want to see in the attacking line up are Kane, Alli and Eriksen.

Eriksen is 24, still young in footballer years. I'm glad he can see the project we are building and isn't just using us as a stepping stone to a bigger club (yet).

He's off form for half a season every year. I don't think many people could disagree with that, no matter how much they love him. That doesn't mean he isn't important.

Same has seemed to be the case for Kane, who takes 2-3 months to get going. Does that also mean I think Kane isn't important?

Ergo, nothing. You've put words in my mouth.

What is your measure of being 'off form' for half a season? If he's not turning up in matches we'd be further down the league surely. If he's a passenger then rest of the side are carrying him?

He has featured in 23(2 as sub) out of 26 PL matches this season. His rating on Whoscored.com seems to be pretty consistent.

He's been MOTM twice this season against Swansea away and Sunderland at home.

For me, amongst a bunch of very consistent performers this season, Alderweireld particularly deserves an honourable mention, but Eriksen has been the most influential. It's not always 25 yard free kick screamers or overtly easy to recognise MOTD glory moments, it's the continuous constantly involved contribution, the metronomic role he plays in our play, that he has been making all season long. His intelligent movement, composure under pressure, the amount of ball he gets through (ave 53 per 90), the way he intelligently drops into midfield or wide, he isn't the bravest but he presses well, drops and helps defend and he makes more tackles than Ozil, Barkley & Payet for example.

He's not the demonstrative, crowd milking VDV type of 10, he just quietly goes about his business, but his business is at the heart of most of what is good about our play.

I think he's having a fucking outstanding season, and I think it's gone largely under many people's radar because players like Kane and Alli are louder presences.

He's not our most important player, but we've lost attacking momentum in games we could've won everytime he's been taken off. Notably Everton away and Leicester at home. I think Lloris, Alderweireld, Dembele and Kane could be classed "more" important or equally important, but Eriksen is up there.

He's not a crowd pleaser like Van der Vaart or Payet, but he's just as - if not more - effective.

It's not even the fact we lose an attacking pressance when he's unavailable but he covers a lot of ground in games I'm would fairly confidently say as much if not more then any other player in his poisition not only in the league but in world football. He may not win many tackles but that work rate and pressure is massive to the team.
I personally believe Lloris, Kane and Toby are our three best players, but the team performances are the reason we are where we are in the league. Removing any clog would show in our results and performances and I can't say Eriksen is or has been throughout this campaign any less important then any other.
