Aaron Lennon

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Couldn't make a decision to save his life. If Soldado/Adebayor have to drop back when we play one up top, it falls squarely on Lennon and our left winger (Chadli yesterday?) to run beyond the final man and encourage through balls. Lennon didn't make a single run and memorably stalled to a standstill at the edge of the box when we had a rare counter attacking opportunity yesterday. The benefit of hindsight but I do think we should have shipped him with Huddlestone in summer - for our sake and his. I don't know that he'll ever be back up to his previous levels - and as good as he was, he was never excellent.

I'd tell Che he had great intentions, as well as Marx, but then follow it up with declaring that tangible communism on this earth is horseshit. The "opiate of the masses" accusation lobbied towards religion is the greatest hypocrisy of the 20th century.

"A mere book to keep people in order"
I think this is meant as an attack at the establishment and usually but not in all cases
the organised Church works as a tool of the conservative elite. Many Freedom fighters
such as ELAS in the Greek Civil war and ww2 had strong Christian convictions.
Many would say the son of god was the first .

On all this I agree with, but communism managed to grip tangible hold of many more millions in the twentieth century than any doctrine had in any century. Promised a utopia on this earth if they overthrew the bourgeoisie, only to an establish a new conglomerate of rulers consisting of the promisors in their place.

Have always stood up for Lennon but something is seriously wrong with the guy this year. Could it be the case that those little hamstring and calf injuries have added up and he's lost that blistering pace and confidence to beat a man? He was never world class but he was one of the few players that would get you on your feet when he had the ball. These days he looks completely lost and he's one of the only guys actually playing his preferred position out there right now

Yes in many ways I agree , Stalin's Hell hole was no Arcadian Promised Land , but it's merit was the spearhead
and destruction of arguably mankind's most evil regime .It is man and his greed that distorts our fair utopia.
As a dreamer I pray for an equal "heaven on Earth"

Russia's winter and their determined people more so than any political ideology were the "wall" that stopped mankind's most evil regime, a wall that allowed the spearhead that was America and England to strike home.

May you dream on though my friend, and I hope some day you see it.

THE " Wall " was Stalingrad and after Kursk , the relentless drive or Spearhead To Berlin.
Please do not think I diminish the effort of the western allies, Britain stands alone 1940, America's economic powerhouse, the RAF/USAF destruction of German City's, industrial backbone and the eventual second
front in Normandy were all major factors but the Russians/Soviets payed by far the larger price.

No one would argue they didn't bear the greatest of prices, absolutely no one. But a spear cuts deepest when there is/are a/multiple solid object providing force in the opposite direction, and the Westerners were facing a determined force while the Russians were chasing a retreat.

It's a sad day when an Aaron Lennon thread is hijacked by Cuban communo-socialist left-wing revolutionary anti-imperialist anti-capitalistic prime minister presidential dictators.

The runs he did make were beyond predictable. They looked like token runs.

Whenever you saw Lennon at training he definitely had his mates at the club, Defoe, Hudd, Jenas, Bale possibly, and they have all gone one by one - I just wonder if this has really affected him, one big take away from the class of 92 is that they loved just playing with their mates, people they get on with.and he does not have that any more, he seems a simple guy and would mean a lot to him

Plus I think the form of Townsend originally but Sterling and others had put into his mind the thought possibly he missed his real chance as an England player and has really knocked his confidence, with the arrival of so many different players, have the coaches really had enough time to put their arm round Lennon?

Praise is due for Lennon - who looked like his old self for many passages of play last night. With his awesome pace and always being a nuisance to the black cats defense and attempted build up play. Really good to see.
