Came on in 68 th minute

74 mins Alex Iacovitti then headed the visitors in front glancing home from Devine's free-kick.

90 + 9 mins - Takes and converts penalty to win match for Port Cale 2-1and put them into 4th place. Nerves of Steel. He's aged 19.

This his first loan, hence he's in League 1 to ensutre he gets game time.

If Devine carries on like this, and I've every confidence he will, the only decision is whether in January can he move to a Championship club who will play him for the 2nd half of the seasion

Its then a question as to whether Ange is prepared to play Devine next season in the first team - probably relacing Lo Celso as Maddison's alternate. He plays the no 10 role in a different way to Maddison, but if he gets given minutes next season in a combination of europe and PL, imo he'll become a star.

If Ange has any doubts about giving him minutes next season he's young enough to loan out for another year, and then bring him into Spurs first team squad. He really is the 'real deal' imo

Rather he replaced Skipp to be honest.

What’s he doing coming on for his debut and taking a pen 😂

Good lad!!
Right? Imagine that at 19, all these older established players there already and you say “Nah, nah, I’m the guy” in injury time to try and win it, and they go, “whatever you say boss” then you smash in the winner in the last seconds.

A player with that mentality, presence and ability, it wont be long until he’s playing for Spurs.

Totally different player to Skipp who is a no 6

Besides which Lo Celso has shown nothing at Spurs to suggest he's anything other than 'average' at best, very lightweight and no end product. Devine will be a huge improvement on him as an attacking midfield player with a bit of bite when required and decent set piece taker.

Skipp should be the DM backup. You bring him on against the likes of City or Liverpool when you're protecting a lead and under a lot of pressure. Not try to join the attack as a winger or no 8.

Hope Ange wises up, cos right now he's using Skipp wrong and consequently we have no Biss backup.

When he first came onto the scene, I heard he was a tough tackling midfielder who can play a bit. Something like a more talented version of skipp? Now people comparing him to Maddison/Lo Celso type more advanced player. What is his natural role?

He's changed as youngsters do (for example Harvey White was an AM aged 16 but moved back to being a CM in Spurs u18 with the ability to play LB if required). Devine has moved forward from where he used to play at Wigan.

Devine played RW for E u20's (and was one of England's best players(, to accommodate others, but that is not his natural position which is either as a no 10 or the most attacking of the CM's at which he seems to excel.

His biggest weakness is probably not having the awareness of where to position himself when the other side is attacking, but when in the right position he can still put in a mean tackle. His strengths are everything in attack whether passing, crossing shooting, set pieces etc.

Quite a different player to Skipp, Devine is probably best as an attacking mid. Really good passing, good movement off the ball with late runs in to box, skillful and can take players on and pretty clinical in front of goal. Skipp you probably don't want anywhere near the final third and is best at tackling, breaking up counters and things like covering space when fullbacks move forwards although not been great since he came back from his injury

Id rather give Nile John minutes than Hojberg at the 6.

Hojberg at 8 is still not good in this system but not a critical.
Wouldn’t think Nile John us anywhere near the first team bench. Last season he just looked like he was going through the motions. Never been the same since that loan? To Charlton.
