Right? Imagine that at 19, all these older established players there already and you say “Nah, nah, I’m the guy” in injury time to try and win it, and they go, “whatever you say boss” then you smash in the winner in the last seconds.

A player with that mentality, presence and ability, it wont be long until he’s playing for Spurs.
It’s unbelievable on so many levels …. It’s a serious move to put your name to it …. But he must have some presence for 10 established outfield players to step aside after he’s been at the club all of 5 minutes

If he’s got talent and he can stay injury free then that attitude will take him the rest of the way

Skipp should be the DM backup. You bring him on against the likes of City or Liverpool when you're protecting a lead and under a lot of pressure. Not try to join the attack as a winger or no 8.

Hope Ange wises up, cos right now he's using Skipp wrong and consequently we have no Biss backup.
Skipp is wank as an 8. Has no awareness and the game just passes him by. He looks lost just running around. If he plays has to be as a defensive midfielder. Only thing though his use to playing in a double pivot in front of a back 5 under conte. Can he be a 6 like Biss?

His natural position is as a no 6, but he does do quite a lot of passing, and that is where he has been playing.

I've no idea why you think he's a no 8

He's definitely no Bissouma, especially in possession, but I think we have solution already in Maddison and Porro.

E.g. if we sub off Skipp, Maddison can drop deeper to receive the ball (like he already does a lot), and both Maddison and Porro can drift inside as he already does, in buildup. Use Skipp as an outball if needed but generally try to avoid putting him under pressure on the ball.

Otherwise he should hang back, fill the space opened up by Porro, and screen the back line. Make a tackle and then a simple pass to Porro, Maddison or whoever. Though I think he has it in him to play line breaking passes from deep.

Apparently Alfie is training with the England seniors today....... Probably just making up numbers but still a nod of confidence for the lad.

The U20s don't have any international fixtures until late October so they are just having a training camp. Must be a nice experience to be able to slot in and train with the first team as neded for all of those lads.

Happy for him, but I'd have thought there were loads of other midfielders ahead of him. Foden, Rice, Belligham, Eze, Maddison, JWP, Gallagher etc.

He’s been playing 8…

Don’t really understand it unless Ange has decided he doesn’t have the ball carrying and press resistance to play 6.
Skipp can’t play the Bissouma role in this system, no way.

Bissouma often drops into the back three in build up or is picking the ball up with his back turned, and then needing to dribble into space. Skipp has some good attributes but isn’t technical or decisive enough to play in that role.

Ultimately, more and more, I find it hard to see where he fits into the team. His best role for now is the box to box 8 role that Sarr has been playing.
