Player Alfie Devine

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

How good is this performance, beautifully weighted passing, lovely range of passes, first touch, flicks, decision making. That flick at 20 seconds... 🔥

Very slick with every touch and every pass arrives with information for the receiver to know what to do next.

Really interesting to see what happens next for him

Really, you'd say he needs another loan, perhaps higher Champ maybe even lower Prem.

But I reckon we'd be smarter to keep him round and fill out the squad, especially for the Europa League. If he isn't getting the required minutes, send him out in January.

I like Devine. He's always reminded me of Mason Mount a bit. Prob not a great time to be airing the Mount comparisons, but he'll make it as a good pro imo. What level we'll just have to see, I think he'd get decent mins in the PL if he was owned by a Bournemouth level club. Need to get his loan right this year.

I like Devine - can play a Carrick like DLP/no 6 role as well as a no 10.

That versatility so useful in a squad - and in both positions able to show his passing skills, as well as selecting he right player to pass to.

Definitely a Prem loan. Ipswich would be perfect.

Unless they see him taking a spot in the rotation from Bentancur, Hojberg or GLC
Haha if he can’t offer more than Hojberg or GLC, he might as well retrain in a different vocation now. He’s a good player and like a few our of yung uns, will look better in our first team amongst other good players - and they will struggle on loan

Cull at least 10 Of our squad and put these guys in and around the first 11

He’s definitely offering more than Hojberg technically right now. Can he handle the prem physically yet is the question but he may well be about to show us in pre season that he can.

Always had the feeling this kid is going to be a very good player and tbh i think he is good enough to be a squad option now.
Thing is, with Bergvall and Gray signed I'm not sure he will get many opportunities which is shame so I guess a loan is the best option.

A season long loan in the champo would do him wonders. He’d be ready to contribute in the Prem after that.

Too many players ahead of him for him to play enough minutes next season. Find a suitable loan and get some much needed game time. I know lots of people seem against loans but the lack of loaning is what killed our youth under Poch. Not every loan will work out but Skipp at Norwich, KWP at Southampton, Parrott wherever he was last season all benefited the player/club in some capacity.

Problem is as you read through posts here people want the perfect loan every time. Which is never going to happen.

First off the players need to be good enough to play men’s football week in week out and train at a high tempo every day. There’s a lot of games in the lower leagues. These are peoples livelihoods on the line. You can’t be a passenger.

The other issue at lower league in the UK is that if you look at how many managerial changes happen you have a good chance the manager who took him on loan won’t be there all season.
And ultimately it’s the managers choice who plays and the style they want to play.

Look at us for an example of that. Squad was/ is a mess with signings made by Conte and Mourinho for Ange to work with. He shipped out the ones he didn’t want as soon as he could.

What killed our youth under Poch was Poch and not the lack of loans, the guy simply didn't give a fuck about our youth system and never gave opportunity to anyone.

Very torn on this.

As many of the other posters have stated, despite the number of games, it’s not clear how many minutes are on offer.

Notwithstanding any further signings but he’s effectively competing with Maddison, Kulu, Sarr, Bentancur, Berg, Gray, Biss and Skipp (assuming GLC & Hojbjerg go) for 3 spots.

I believe he will be good enough to demand a spot but not physically yet. So I’m inclined towards a loan to further his development. With that in mind (as with Donley) I think getting that loan sorted earlier in the summer gives him a better opportunity to get integrated into the squad of where he goes to hit the ground running once the season starts.

Wonder if Leicester, having lost Dewsbury-Hall, might be a good shout
