Player Alfie Dorrington

Thanks for the info. Seems like a great loan! Excited for and about the lad.

What level is SPFL considered to be these days? League One equivalent? A bit higher standard?

I'd guess its fairer to say Celtic and Rangers more like Championship or even very low in PL, whereas most of the others probably L1. Just don't tell a Scot that !

Given that Alfie was still not fully fit at end of January transfer window, its been a great loan for Alfie as he was ineffective for the first few weeks of loan, but ended it playing well. So getting the minutes he did and ending in a winning cup final meant it proved to be a vey good loan.

Alfie Dorrington is an excellent CB prospect.

Thanks again for the insight - much appreciated good sir.

Pretty precise to be honest. A couple of sides may well do ok in the Championship, but the level is generally L1.

And yes, Alfie came back strongly from an awful start. Most up here would welcome him back, so that’s a positive bit of feedback at least.

He's been brilliant for us. Lest we forget he's just a wee baby who only turned 20 a few weeks ago and he was thrown in the deep end when the club was really struggling. The stability the partnership with Knoester gave us probably kept us in the top 6 in that mini revival. His time here will have been massive for his development. I'll miss his occasional box to box runs.

A post from yesterday. Other posters would welcome him back on loan

I’d have issue with none of that, with the exception of the word “runs”. He’s slower than a glacier.

Rangers could have beat Spurs a few months ago. Celtic would likely beat us at this moment. And both would naturally get stronger due to the increase in revenue from the PL.

That's an interesting observation. Rangers were in the Europa Cup Final when Postecoglou won back the Premiership (and another 4 titles, one more than Rodgers has achieved). So arguably his Celtic side played an even better Rangers than the one we played against and he beat them and he beat them well.

Tamworth nearly beat us a few months ago. There’s a big difference playing a PL side in a one off cup side and competing week in, week out in the PL. Celtic and Rangers would get relegated. They’d end up like Sunderland.
