Player Alfie Dorrington

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He won't start ahead of Dragusin/Davies/Gray
We play Woolwich 3 days after Tamworth. Then Everton on the Sunday and Hoffenheim on Thursday. 4 games in 11 days when Ben Davies will just have come back from injury (assuming everything goes well with his rehab). Why not Dragusin and Dorrington v Tamworth then Ben comes in vs Woolwich and Everton. Dragusin and Gray vs Hoffenheim?

Tamworth is Jan 12, surely Romero or VDV are back by then?

Pre Southampton team news was Ange saying he hoped to have Ben Davies back before the year end.

Romero and Van de Ven no date as yet from the club, although Gold suggested Van de Ven might be back earlier than Romero.

So ATM I doubt if both back before Tamworth and maybe .only Van de Ven just about back before Tamworth ..... so might be a risk to play him ?

If Tamworth is the first game VDV is available; we should just have him skip it and save him for the NLD instead.

Will be quite amazing if we start a PL game with an 18yo and a 19yo as our starting center backs , when has that ever happened ?
If they do start then they deserve complete and utter support from the fan base .
I hope they slay it .

What insiders say about Dorrington’s situation

Speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, journalist Alasdair Gold shed light on Alfie Dorrington’s status within the club.

Gold’s comments provide an intriguing glimpse into the dynamics at play, as he highlighted the apparent disparity between how the defender is viewed by those within Tottenham and how he is regarded by Postecoglou.

Gold remarked, “Why hasn’t someone like Alfie Dorrington been given those minutes? I just wonder whether Postecoglou doesn’t rate him highly enough.

“Which is interesting, because there is a feeling within Spurs that he has something about him. Again, maybe some people think he deserves a chance at Spurs, but yeah, it surprised me that.”

Gold’s observations suggest that while the club sees promise in the defender, the manager’s reservations may be rooted in tactical preferences or a differing assessment of the player’s readiness for Premier League action.

Stick a 19 y/o in at CB who has come back from a major injury, not match sharp and no real EFL experience... very rarely does that work as well as the FM players across football think.

He's a good prospect, but a time and a place (like Tamworth for example) to start him
