Player Alfie Dorrington

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Hopefully he impresses and earns a Championship or lower PL loan next season (or really impresses an earns a spot in the squad next year).

Need these players to actually play and not just train. If they're not good enough, we need to suss it out, find their level, and move them on while they can still have a football career.

First game is away to Rangers on Wednesday. Sky 20:00.
And his 2nd game ……….

It’s a double edged sword.

Play youngsters in men’s football when they aren’t physically ready and you can end their career before it begins.

Fine line to balance as the players always think they are ready. Sometimes they just aren’t.
Luck plays a huge part too.

Such a big step between development football and men’s football. Wonder if Scotland is more physical but not as big a leap technically.
Tbh I have no idea about the standard of the Scottish league these days.

And just trying to remember that young lad we sent up to Rangers? I think. Whatever happened to him?

Luke Amos is up at Hibs these days. Not sure if he gets many minute though. He was one who had a bad injury that has pretty much killed his career trajectory.

They have just signed another CB so have another 3 on their books?
Guessing they must have some injuries.

Was the Latvian captain they signed last week - 24 years old. Must have decent experience.
So it will be interesting to see how many minutes our boy gets. Bit of competition for him up there. I’d be surprised to see him play on Wednesday night. Unless they are at bare bones.

Romero, VDV, Dragusin, Davies and now Gray makes him a distant 6th choice for us so hopefully he’s closer to the standard required north of the border.

Was a sensation when he arrived at Rangers.
Then got kicked a few times and didn't fancy it any more.
Currently in K league.

Dom Ball was pretty good for a while up there but is now at Orient.

Oh dear oh dear. Playing a player before he's ready can have an devastating impact on a player's self-confidence.

Comment about him from a Spurs fan on SC:

From the highlights it looks like he had a tough start to his life in Aberdeen. They were losing 1-0 when he came on but he air kicked a clearance from a corner which resulted in another cross coming in which Rangers scored their 2nd from. The 3rd was a disaster for him as he let the ball bounce over his head on the halfway line, then slipped over as he tried to recover, giving the striker a pretty clear run through on goal. Still, it’s his first game and it was in front of a large hostile crowd. A steep learning curve for the lad, but hopefully it’s the making of him.
