I’ve looked at our next three games and if we don’t go through on Thursday Ange will be gone during the international break as we will struggle against Fulham and guaranteed defeat against Chelsea. Only progression on Thursday saves him but we all know that it will just be a stay of execution.

I don't think there is much doubt he is now going. Just as soon as we are out of Europe - so could be Thursday. It is with huge regret that I say this. For a moment there I really believed we had found ourselves a top Manager. But instead it has been another false dawn. One day we will stick with a manager and build the legacy the new infrastructure and fans deserve. One day. 😬

Ideally the next Ferguson, worth backing year after year.
Not the next Ange.

The interesting thing with Ange is that he appears to have held on to the dressing room throughout all of this - which is somewhat unusual. You'd have thought that some players would have gone on record (or briefed to the press) more to complain about some of the tactical and player choices, but that hasn't really been the case.

If only he had a vague idea about tactics and coaching then we'd have been onto a good thing.

My gut feeling is that training isn't too tough on them, he's not a lunatic like Conte, or a fitness mentalist like Poch, or a dietician like Ramos.
They probably mostly all have it easy and only a few senior players so far can see through the BS façade that he's a real coach.

Sorry , I haven’t read too many pages back on this thread but can anyone that is Ange ‘in’ please explain why you think he should be given another season at the club ?
I'm confused... So you do want to know what people on this thread think, or you don't? If you do, read the thread - I can promise you there are lots of conversations about Ange here, much of it about whether he should go and if so, when. ;) If you don't want to know that stuff, close the thread. Given that none of us know you in real life (presumably) then there isn't really an option to find out that stuff without reading it. :/

EDIT: I can give you a clue though - I very much doubt there is anyone on this thread or any other who thinks at this point that Ange should be given another year. I might be wrong, but I'd be very surprised...

Oh there will be. But they will be hiding. Waiting for the next win. Waiting for a chance to emerge and hoping their cult leader can bring back the good ol' days.

Agreed , give him two or better still sack him & then rehire him until he wins something in his “ second” year

All you doubters….

I love the boldness of playing out from the back, but I'm tired of dogmatic and philosophically-driven managers that refuse to work with squad or talents at their disposal.

To take it a step further, I'm exhaustively tired of "Managers" given that our side hasn't appeared effectively coached for 6 or 7 years now. Give me a "First Team Coach"; I'm fucking begging.

we did look coached at one point, despite the flaws there were proper attacking patterns and a good press. that's not existed for about 12 months now though. it's given way to looking completely uncoached again like 2nd season conte or all of jose's spell . just the crappy worst bits of ange ball seems to survived like Porro being in no mans land or all

I'm hearing Johan Lange is going to be sacked from his job at the end of the season . Lange failed to land Mathys Tel , and Levy and Ange had to get involved in persuading him to come to Tottenham .

We were still in the Champions League and FA Cup when he sacked Poch.
Still in the league cup, Ropey League and FA Cup when AVB was sacked.
Still in ropey league, league cup (as holders) and FA cup when Ramos was sacked.

Sacking Mourinho just before a final was dumb, but that doesn't mean we now forever have to wait until we're out of all cups before doing it as a result.
We haven't had a final since Ange arrived and we're not getting one.
Many posters on the forum wanted Mourinho out well before Levy sacked him. A lot agreed with the decision as no one thought we stood a chance of winning the way the team was playing. The others were much earlier in the season.

Really? When was the last time on this forum that you saw someone saying Ange should be given next season? Sorry if it's happened and I've missed it, but I think it's quite a long time now since anyone has said that... (some may say 'If we win Europa and performances improve' etc, but that's completely different, that's not saying right now that he should be given next season, which is what the lazy poster was asking about). I mean I know you say they are 'hiding' etc, but then you must have some idea of who they are, and you must know when and where they recently said this, otherwise what could you possibly be basing that opinion on? :/

If performances improve and we win the Europa League, then I'd be fine with him staying another year. Any other result (mid-table finish and no trophy) and he has to go.
Normally to achieve winning anything, a team has to have a degree of organisation and structure.
Our team has neither, therefore, the chance of him delivering a trophy is low.
The team has been on the slide since December 2023, it's been painful to watch and, for others who have refused to believe that ange is not the real deal.

For me, it wasn't until fairly recently - January maybe. Others can think differently of course, but for me our performances in Aug / Sep / Oct deserved more points than they got (and both pundits and independent objective analysis like xG etc agree with me). Nov & Dec were made more complicated by the injuries. I know people go on about Palace and Ipswich games with a relatively full squad, but any team can have a couple of bad games. So throughout Nov & Dec, I was concerned about the drop off in performances since Aug/Sep/Oct, but hoped that it was more about injuries than anything else. More recently - for most games in Jan & Feb, we've just gotten worse and worse, tactics that worked on and off previously now hardly ever seem to work, and it's very obviously time for Ange to go and his appointment to be chalked up as an error (some might say it was a brave choice, others may say it was stupid, but surely everyone now agrees it hasn't worked and isn't going to work).

So when we talk about 'sticking with a manager', for me that means giving him a reasonable period of time (which of course is different for everyone) to see if it works rather than just sacking him (say) as soon as he's lost 3 consecutive games (not least because if we do that, no one will want the job). With Ange, it got more complicated by the injuries - I honestly believe our drop off in form might well have seen him fired in December if it weren't for the injuries. No one has a magical criteria of when is the right time to sack a manager, and some fans / boards will always be more patient than others, so we're bound to all have different 'timescales' or 'sets of circumstances' to say sacking a manager is the right thing to do at that particular point in time. So whilst I agree that 'there's no inherent virtue in prolonging an error', at the same time you have to give it time to see it if might not be an error after all, but just a blip.
Yep fair play to you there's some logic to what you say. For me though it's been manifest he's a complete cluncker for so long I don't get the prevarication and out right denial in some. The injuries as you say probably brought him more time and though I've used Nuno pointedly against the board you can argue that maybe they are watching and thinking he obviously deserved more support let's not do that again.

I know there are always exceptions but the lack of serious football pedigree should have warranted Ange less time too, the coefficients of the leagues he's worked in quality of players.ect. I tell you guys the truth I might have given him more time had he not made a fair few awful self-inflicted wounds Djed Spence: the communication issues, petulance, weirdness with the fan base, the Europa league squad composition was a massive red flag serious people diligent people don't hand in a squad list that looks like that. It was an early indicator he wasn't across detail and that's played out over and over. With blatant evasiveness or bald lies compounding the original mistake.

Just seen that Paratici is eligible to start work again in June. Hoping that Lange and Ange both get the sack and Paratici takes control again.
