Postecoglou needs to have tge right players ready and able for the matches we can win fir the remainder of the season.

Forego Liverpool and City in sone respects in ny opinion. Radical but he needs to recognise the importance of those 2 games. 6 points and it's job done. 4 probably enough.

I don’t think Ange disagrees that set pieces are a problem, they clearly are. He just doesn’t want it to define the team and become a mental block (which it already has).

We just have much bigger problems. Having 70% of the ball and being unable to threaten the goal is far more concerning than the way we defend set pieces.
I think that's down to the attackers. It's not like they're not getting chances. It's no small thing that Romero and VDV are up there desperately trying to find the net because our attackers are failing.

Some of you are absolute cunts. Turning back on manager after 9 months, unbelievable.
Like we had it better before, seriously.
Arteta had 3 seasons of mediocrity.
Klopp had 3 seasons too.

Get over it crybabies. IT’S A PROCESS. I’m fuming too these couple of games, but calling manager to be sacked after one season where he lost our best player and goalscorer ever and still we are 5th. Still, no-one believed we’ll finish 5-6.
Honestly, our fanbase is TOXIC.

It's truly embarrassing some of the so called 'fans' that support us after reading some of the braindead comments on here this morning.

Ah let’s not start turning on the manager now. This was always going to be a topsy turvy season. I think there’s some pretty clear areas of improvement so it just depends how Ange adapts. I’m worried he’ll be stubborn but I’m hoping he won’t be

The mentality at the top of this football club stinks of shit, greed and complacency.
It seeps down and infects everything from the boardroom to the training ground. There is no desire to win where it matters to the fans, only where it matters to ENIC. £££
Every manager Levy has employed has hinted at it, and Conte had the balls to say it outright while still in his post.

A Legend for that alone. .:contepoint:
It's a pretty grim outlook can you purge that from the club from the bottom up with a good cleanout this summer? Or does it take a journey into purgatory to get it cut out?

Chavs ain’t bottom feeders but that aside there isnt a solution at this club that involves constantly sacking managers particularly if you get a system manager that peaks in season 2-3.

We are effectively asking for a manager to play attacking football, also be a pragmatist, get the best out of players perhaps mentally not upto the job. We are basically asking for Alex Ferguson. We broke Conte and Poch. We need to make ourselves a club that isn’t so insanely difficult to manage first. Additionally there isn’t much in the way of alternatives to Ange right now, not that we could get anyway.
I sort of see your point. In my interpretation, that would translate to be relegated to Championship,
and finding a Bill Shankly type to oversee a revolution.
This or the way the top Basque clubs operate in la Liga (Athletic and Real Sociedad). But it's funny that even with Harry Kane coming through the academy recently, there isn't a particular bias towards needing some local players on the first team.
Making things difficult comes from the fact that there isn't a philosophy, a mode of operations clearly coherent.
Even if it seems to be a progression, a better understanding of all parameters since at least Martin Jol. With Harry Redknapp and Mauricio Pochettino.

It's not acceptable mate. This topsy-turvy bollocks is typical of the loser mentality contaminating this whole football club.

No European football
Early elimination from hoth domestic cups
2 points from 18 against our three biggest rivals.
Bottom half form since November
Another end of season capitulation
Another string of 3 or more successive defeats.

Let's stop pretending and burying our heads in the sand and call it what it is.

A fucking disgrace

It’s not just the attackers, it’s how we move the ball as a team. When we do get it forward quickly we always look dangerous, we are just too timid to do it regularly.

The way we played in the first half summed it up. So many times in the first half we had a simple opportunity to play a dangerous pass and instead we took the safe option. You don’t win games by passing the ball backwards. We’ve got stuck in that safety first mode and that’s not what Ange’s football is about.

There's clearly tough truths on both sides of the argument on this. Rock and a hard place yet again. But just for once, see this though. Stay with the guy, find the players who buy into his philosophy and hope to fuck he sorts out our technical deficiencies. The players might buy in more if he doesn't leave us looking like skittles when set pieces are in play.
around November Ange siad something like "even without many of the first 11 players we need to play the same way to reinforce this is our style of play" I acceptted that as he's trying to impose his style on the first team, so you can't change are the first sign its going wrong
(which I know goes against my believe in having a manager that plays horses fpr courses)
but for me the reliance on VDV saving as by using his speed is our defence, and not working on set plays and helping the keeper on corners are major downsides to this guy
when I played sunday morning football it was always "a bigum on a bigum " at corners and free kicks

Even if you are Ange out it changes nothing, we have had 2 world class managers here who failed to achieve a trophy, the best we can hope for now is that we get lucky with some Transfers in the summer and Ange proves that the start of the season wasn't a Fluke and we reproduce that form next season!
To give Ange credit I think with the right players his system works - Look how many chances we had against the goons! We also don't seem to concede many from open play, Change the manager now and we start again and then how long do we give the new guy?
Its just a shame that a massive club like Spurs have to hope they get lucky with some transfers to be able to compete!

Agree with all that, especially conceding from open play. Fixing set piece solidarity is probably the easiest thing. Our defence looks open but the situation nearly always gets resolved by the CBs. all our goals of late seem to come for set piece and silly little errors like a slip or a bad pass, easily correctable.

Really just don't see the point of changing unless nagelsmann was free and wanted to come. He was chosen after a long process, stick with him and see what happens. some of the older players in the squad probably need be shipped out or sidelined in the summer along with the clumsy players who cant really play this football
