Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

are you joking?

there are muppets posting on here that make statements - about shit they have no comprehension about, who will never back down from their cockeyed opinions, no matter what the evidence presented to them shows.

we're 5th in the table and are struggling to score and the villagers are out with their pitchforks and burning torches - and they want a hangin'!

Ange made the mistake of producing a winning team at the start of the season, and then failing to win the league outright off the back of it.

Now the retards want him dead.
So, we've definitely settled against deportation then?

No but he has had to have evolved and adapted his tactics over the last 20 years of Management. Also Ange is absolutley ruthless when it comes to player trading. He released 7 players when he joined Melbourne Victory. 19-20 Players were signed at Celtic. The man also has a chip on his shoulders pushing him to succeed.

I am sure that once he gets the overall principal of the way he wants to play into the team he will make adjustments in games to win no matter what.

It is easy to say he is not fit to manage in the PL but that is obvious BS. The man has had 20 years in management and will have seen most things. He may fail but it will not be because he doesn't have the ability it will be because the amount of time/money his vision will take is too long/much.
how do you know it wont be because of ability? hes never been at this level before. 20 years experience doesnt mean much, theres managers with 20 years experience at sunday league level, doesnt mean they would cut it in league football just because they have 20 years experience.

im not going to go over it again but hes made GLARING blunders that just dont make any sense and cause concern. blunders you would not expect from someone with 20 years experience! evidence points to him not knowing what hes doing at this level.

its like a bloke destroying his mates in a home poker games, going to the WSOP to mix it with the top pros in the world and finding out theres levels to it.

Blimey, he could be my toy boy!

crushed noo GIF
I bet he looks at least 10 years older than you.

I just read your 3 glaring errors.

Appointing Son is not a glaring error, to appoint the most popular player/ Best player as captain. It is a way to try get buy in, and yes it may in the long run be a mistake but it is not a glaring error.

Chelsea and Johnson are not glaring errors either. He has made glaring errors but they are not them.

There is the fact we are trying to stretch teams with our setup but all teams need to do to counteract it is compress their team in the middle. The fact our midfield are easy to play through and the press of our front three can be pathetic. They are the errors of Ange and the team and the glaring errors at that.

son captaincy is a glaring error to me as it shows weakness. you may see it as a way of getting them to buy in, but it just shows more of the same old spursyness shit. its weak! its meant to be a new era, you set the standard from the off, its not a popularity business its a results one.

johnson is an horrendous purchase. its clear hes a counter attacking forward, his tactics arent to play on the counter so its a stupid buy! unless hes to have as a sub to kill games off when youre 2 up and the other side are pushing up so you can hit them on the counter...but how about spending 50m on a player that actually fits the first 11 first!

chelsea was complete and utter football suicide. the players arent robots! that would of caused huge doubts with some of them! it reeks of someone who hasnt got a clue. not only did he set them up to be embarrassed, he set them up at the risk of injury, of which VDV fell victim to it. you can not have your defence push up to the halfway line when you dont have the players in front of them to get tight to the ball and stop through balls.

sounds like skipp will be left back till the end of the season, said they've been working on the role with him for a few weeks, ever since destiny and ben got injured.
probably it for Royal

As the full back in our system operates like a midfielder on the ball and Skipp can defend makes logical sense to train him as an emergency right/left back.

I’ve been pretty critical of Ange recently but good on him (and Skipp) for trying something different.

Academy boy so big time rooting for Skipp to show something positive our last 3 games.

I'd like to see us actually attempt to break at speed more often. That's far more entertaining than passing 47 times sideways and backwards.
I know the manager says he won't change his methods, but I think he will modify them to the extent Spurs will go over the top a bit more. It doesn't make sense to have players like Johnson, Son, and Werner who can stretch the pitch and not use those abilities. Postecoglou is smart enough to change, but he'll be too arrogant to ever admit that he has. That's fine as long as he does.

Don't even need to go over the top.
Despite fans popular belief, even the worst defensive sides come out occasionally. At those moments, 1 to 3 passes is the absolute maximum we should make to transition up the pitch. Pretty much what Wolves did to us at our place. And we need to practice running fast, passing the ball and controlling it in those situations. Because in the 1 out of f 10 times we do try to do it, we fuck it up anyway.

Utter shite. Gassed my ass, there may be reasonable explanations but being tired isn't one. Out of the capital one cup first round, out of the FA cup after two games, no Europe, one league game a week at absolute most, the best facilities you could ever wish for to recover from games. These guys are living the fucking life, every day is a spa day at Spurs.

If any of those players are "gassed" after the lazy stroll of a season they've had then they can fuck off out of the door because a season with multiple competitions and games a week will finish them off.

If these players are gassed with no European or cup football this year then they aren't PL players

I don't disagree, even though I do think going over the top can work against some teams. The problem is what you point out, you need to come to the point of advantage a lot quicker than Spurs do. There does come a point where once you arrive at your destination you have to step off.
