Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I was firmly in the "want to win" camp for last night, and was gutted when Son didn't do his 1v1. But anyway, I respect the point re the rivalry, just don't think it's enough to make me want Spurs to lose. I will say those Spurs "fans" who celebrated in the stadium for City were complete bellends and have a small man loser mentality.

Anyway, good that we now have Radu in the team and VdV as an option at LB.

We need Olise and Eze, or similar.

Ange deserves our support for 10-15 games next season to show us a side that is pulling together, playing well, and on for some cup runs and a top 4 finish.

This squad should have been top 4 this season. Unacceptably shite since the new year.

Roll on Sheff United. We need Europa and a win to end on!

Most had as pegged as finishing 7th at best.
Hot start but lack of depth killed us when key players went down.
Despite the weak finish a decent foundation has been set.

It went from Ange football to Ange-R football
Of course, we can all see Angelos' point of view: a club with high ambitions should always want to win.
And that's what all Spurs fans clearly wanted when Spurs, in a shambolic way, lost 0-3 to Fulham and 0-4 to Newcastle when having the lead on Villa for the 4th place, barely beat Luton & Burnley, and then the pathetic efforts in their losses vs Woolwich, Chelski and Liverpool... and Spurs ended up with nothing to play for and the only joy they had left was Woolwich yet again losing out on the title (by losing to Man City). Spurs lost 4 games in a row for the first time since 2004...
Yes, Spurs need 1 point to secure European League at home vs already relegated Sheff. United And if Spurs can't manage at least a draw in that game then they don't deserve either CL nor EL footy next year.

I still think it is fair to give Ange a full season to get things right. That said, I will criticise him for changing the goalposts a lot and it's no different to what a lot of previous managers tried and failed at. One minute they say we can win the league, the next we are 5th with a lot of work to do and reality sinks in. I'd rather a manager just said 4th is short-term progress and achieved it.

As for fans wanting us to stop Woolwich winning the title last night, I've read a lot of things like they are losers or an embarrassment or need counselling or are incels. It's bollocks. They are regular fans. If you can't have some end of season banter and a different opinion as a fan then maybe you are the bellend. Heaven forbid the fans make up their own fun when the team is shit for 5 out of 6 games.

Biggest thing that pissed me off was Ange choosing last night to rage despite a really decent, committed performance from the team.

This is after weeks of absolute shite while he stands on the sidelines in glum silence refusing to adapt as we get pumped.

He chose this game of ALL GAMES to shore up the defence and be solid through the middle with no striker. A game where a draw was of absolutely no use to any cunt except Woolwich.

I guess the stadium atmosphere really pissed him off and surprised him but it just surprises me that he expected different. He really doesn't get it after almost a year here - well I suppose he does now.

Jose all time great
Conte one of the best
Poch elite level experience
Nuno underrated career
Countless others better at other clubs
Poch or Conte (and Redknapp) werent the issue and prove you can make a decent fist of the job despite our owners and yes i know they didnt win anything.

I pulled up several of our worst recent managers who were sacked for a similar or even better set of results than our current run of form. I'm not saying he should be sacked, he wont be, just that he's fortunate there hasnt been more scrutiny on an abysmal run of form and that he is going to need a decent start next season or it could get difficult fairly quickly.

If Son converts his chance there's 20 minutes to go with extra-time against a suddenly extremely nervous Man City side. There would have been a more than fair chance of us going on to win the game.

Tell me, would you have been absolutely gutted for us to win the game last night and keep the top 4 ambitions we've been chasing all season a possibility going into the last game?

Underrated for sure.

There were roughly 3 kinds of Spurs fans yesterday:

People who wanted Spurs to win.

People who unwillingly wanted Spurs to lose.

People who enjoyed watching Spurs to lose.
Yeah I agree although I must admit where I sit there wasn't really anyone who was enjoying us lose. Not sure what it was like in the rest of the stadium. I was pissed off we was losing but I didn't have the same motivation to really try and liven the atmosphere etc.

The general feeling I got in the stadium was we wanted to put up a fight i.e not get battered like we have in recent weeks to some teams, but also an acceptance that losing really wasn't the worst thing in the world.

I have to give him credit for Mourinho level politics and tricks that I didn't think he had in him. The conversation should be the collapse in this second half of the season and the 5 defeats in 6.

However, the press, every other fan in the country and even the most spineless of Spurs have shifted their focus to how much of a disgrace the "toxic" Spurs fans are. And the biggest joke of all ... "Ange is a winner and deserves better". Fuck right off.

I'm not completely unreasonable. I'm willing to give him a chance... But only if he's willing to look in the mirror and see what he needs to work on in himself.

The atmosphere was quiet but 99.99% of fans in the stadium weren't vocally supporting Citeh. But this has to be said, and Simon Jordan brought it up, the fan perspective on one game is the LEAST important thing that Ange should be worrying about in creating a winning team.

Also the "inside" the club part is odd. I thought it might be the slip of the tongue but he did relate it to things he needs to change. That is worrying because I haven't got the impression that the board were not fully behind him or that the players didn't put their all into the performance last night.

I keep reading this "draw was no use"

It's wrong.

A draw would have got us into the Europa.

Trust me that if we make the Europa Final this forum will be ablaze with excitement and rightly so.

We now have to get that point or three away from home. We should. But it's not a certainty by any stretch.

I've just been to the gym and I'm a fat bloke...

:tanguythumb:

With that out of the way, while on the treadmill I decided that fan who Ange was pissed off at is a spunk muncher. The attention that is now bringing the day after - I just had a headline through about it - is why the fans shouldn't have been so vocal about wanting to lose.

Looking forward to Sunday being over with. Can then enjoy the melting in the transfer thread over every single tweet by 'Spurs fans' with two followers and then will be in the sun for the first 2/3 games of next season.

Bring it on!

It was entirely foreseeable that the focus would shift to the extraordinary spectacle of a team's fans supporting the opposition.

Surely those who cheered for City realised that ... ?

:D

All we need is a point against the worst side in PL history ffs (we may not even need that depending on results tonight).

If you don't think the team is capable of that then not sure why you want to qualify for EL as we are sure to lose every group stage game.

I get your point, but the two things don't follow. On any given day, any PL team can beat us. We struggled to beat Sheff United last time round. Just got past Luton (2x) and Burnley last week. There can be odd results on last day when the pressure is off if a team has gone down.

And, as we saw this season, a team's performance can change pretty quickly. We could be a much better team next season in EL than we have been these past two months. Here's hoping.

Hopefully other results are favourable to us, starting with barcodes tonight.
