Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I admire the manager for talking the talk but right now he isn't walking the walk, we definitely have structural issues, the way Leicester cut through us in the 2nd half was pretty concerning and our rest defence is poor, there's just not enough urgency when defending or in transition.

The forwards lacking composure and choosing the wrong options isn't his fault but it is his fault if he picks Johnson who lacks composure himself.

If it doesn't fix them he's gonna find himself out of a job, pretty simple - I do like him but he's gotta think of solutions real quick because it will spiral out of control.

Oliver Glasner was mentioned on this thread as a replacement for Ange but hang on didn't he lose his first game of the season away to mighty Brentford?

I wonder if the Palace fans are on their forum moaning about him? :D

The goal we conceded was school boy level management imo.

A straight pass that bypassed our entire midfield right through the middle because our players are so poorly disciplined in regards to their positioning, that is clearly a system issue and we witnessed it countless times last season.

Like I said before, you don't concede 61 goals in a season by chance and whilst I think we should have done more in the window, I also think we have a team good enough to be winning that game yesterday.

Seeing people hand wave it as "bad luck" when we have seen this exact scenario play out over and over again last season is baffling to me, like you say, he needs to find solutions and fast because things will turn very sour, especially when you consider we have the gooners coming up and they are likely going to pump us if we play like we did yesterday.

People aren't angry specifically about last night.

They are angry at the last 29 league games, with the 40% win ratio and the lack of killing teams off and converting dominance into points.

As a one off, start to the season game you can write things off. But starting the season exactly the same way as we finished sets alarm bells ringing for people that don't need that much convincing.

Need to consider the disruption from the large number of absences we had for large spells last season.

We didn’t have the squad depth to adequately fill those positions last season.

But completely ignoring the context of different circumstances and the fact that last night was nothing like last season. If anything that 60mins was much more like the famous first 10 games that people like to ram down everyone’s throats at every opportunity.

this is a common theme it seems with this manager, wants all the ball but the best chances go to the oppo.

maybe it is largely down to the wingers not being up to it, but they are still his wingers and he still picks them, so it falls on him.
If looks worse because the opposition appears more clinical. They know they'll get chances, they just invariably take them.

All the moaning in the world isn't going to change Ange or his approach. The intention is to outscore teams. That's it. We just didn't do it last night, or enough last year when it mattered.

its the quality of chances they get tho aint it. they get far more cleaner, clear cuts. because a lot of the time its an attacker one on one with our keeper.

i want ange to succeed. but hes clearly got favourites now and his favourites are soft and they make us soft.

I don't disagree mate. I thought we were phenomenal the first 45 minutes.

And at times last season. When Angeball works it's magnificent. But you have to score.

Yeah, the thing is though you'd think we finished 15th reading some of the posts on here.

People are quick enough to say the club is finished when we finished 8th a couple of seasons ago yet we finish 5th last season and no one can take any positives from that? It was all just luck or its because we had a good start to the season etc.

We drew a game of football last night, we played really well especially in the first half. Unfortunately those chances we didn't take and yeah it cost us but the 'I told you so' posts are abit comical.

We have fans who were sick of counter attack, now they are bored of a manager trying to play a more progressive style of football. Maybe follow handball or volleyball instead.
