His gruff ‘charm’ isn’t going to work anymore. It’s boring and overplayed.

He’ll need to spank Everton as it’s Newcastle away and the Scum after that.

And the worrying thing is when they equalised , I would imagine a good percentage of us supporters just knew it would happen

I had that ugly feeling at half time to be fair brother.

I loved the first half, dominating having some 8 corners, 10 shots ( 5 on goal ), etc, buuuuut going in at only 1 nil , I just felt it.

Sad state of affairs to be honest. We needed to bury those maggots in the first 45.
Made it worse by being a 5 am start down under.

The annoying thing about last night was we absolutely destroyed them for an hour, our passing was sharp we gave nothing away at the back and then we drop off give them a sloppy goal and we lose the plot for 15 minutes or so, but the underlying problem and it has been for a year now is we do not score enough goals when we are on top. We should have been 4 up at least by half time and 6 up by the time they scored. Ange was spot on with his analysis we need to be much more ruthless in front of goal

My concern was the last 3rd of last seasons results and performances would just bleed into this one. Seen it with Hoddle, Ramos and Poch. We either needed to adjust tactics or change 3 or 4 of the first team and we've done neither. I think after 2 pre seasons you expect to see an improvement. Of course there will be blips along the way but we've not been great since January. No one is saying sack him after 1 game, but i'd expect to see a pretty big improvement in the next 10 or so. Managers are judged on results you cant get through solely on force of personality.

looked vulnerable twice in 90.mins.

We are an attacking team that throws bodies forward and takes risks. Twice in 90mins is decent.
But look just how vulnerable it was! Schoolboy error. That should not be happening with a top team with title ambitions, yet it has in one form or another since November. And I haven't as yet seen evidence to convince me that it will stop occurring.

Despite what Ange is saying, we don't not have title ambitions. The target is 4th. Don't kid yourself or allow yourself to be fooled.

Eh?

Not taking chances is a system issue?

If the system creates chances then it’s working.

No team goes through a game against any opponent without giving up chances. We gave 2 chances today and conceded from 1. Because we hadn’t taken one of the many we created we paid for that with 2 points.

As for luck and exceptions to rules, I genuinely have no clue what you were saying there. It was like reading a sentence from a Joe Biden debate
Yesterday wasn't a systems issue although i don't like some of the things our centre backs did and that could possibly be because of the system.

During the first phase of the Leicester goal Romero had no business rushing to the Leicester player on the left hand side where Porro looked like he had the situation under control. All it did was cause Romero to be out of position for the 2nd phase which evidently resulted in the goal. Now this can be down to Romero himself but Ange needs to be making him aware that it wasn't necessary.

Agree, i mean for all the bluster thats Tottenham now, hoping to nick 4th. Trouble is we've won 4 of our last 12 league games, Luton, Forest, Burnley at home and Sheff Utd away. Even 4th looks a long way off at the moment.
Mate, I got myself into a positive mindset with a new season. Don't get me started again.

We did enough to win yesterday, and should have. For me I saw more that was reminiscent of our start last season than in the subsequent two thirds.

He's got to get us being more clinical or we (and he) will be in trouble. We have to score multiple goals to guarantee the win. One isn't enough for his system.

Agree. Romero wasnt at his best for the goal at all.

We didn’t finish chances.
Yes, I even said in the match thread at half time that we needed to score another goal, as we’d might end up conceding and then we’d start panicking. Guess what happened…
That’s not about learning, that’s about rhythm and composure.
I remember a similar discussion was around when Potter was rumoured to be our next manager before/after Nuno (can’t remember exactly). Brighton couldn’t finish for shit despite having a high xG. And people said it’s the players not the manager. But after Potter was replaced, that problem was fixed. I don’t fully agree that it’s solely on the players.
Different patterns and the goal was from a new pattern of play.
What different pattern? We scored a goal from a cross. It’s what we’ve done last season.
We had a meltdown when they scored and our captains need to stand up to be counted for that.
I think you’re overestimating the influence a captain has on the field. If it’s collective sloppiness what is that player going to do?
Set piece defending was solid and we gave up almost zero transition chances.
Uhh no? Leicester’s biggest chances came after transitions.
Overall far from perfect but if you are saying you can’t see anything learnt from last season after that game it’s because that’s that you want to see, not because you’ve watched the game with an open mind.
I’m not sure it has something to do with me when there are lots of other fans who say the same thing as I do. Like, say I’m not "open-minded", what about the others, are they not open-minded aswell? And what about you? Are you open-minded to the fact that maybe some issues we’ve had last season persist this season aswell?
