An interesting sub, kind of an admission that the Kulu-Maddison dual AM "experiment" has limited sustainability. Will be interesting to see if and when it's strategically deployed in future.
I assume it is his ideal style of play and it just wasn't working against this level of opposition. People are hailing Kulu for adapting to change in AM, but they forget that if Kulu was on the right he may have played better than Johnson there as well. People also forget Maddison AM and Son ST used to work well too so I don't buy into the idea of players are now in their best positions.

In fact the only reason Johnson hit form on the right is cause Ange made it his position when he was in worse form than Kulu. Ange literally played Johnson there through poor form. So my point is that if he wants two AMs he may also keep stubbornly playing it even through some negative results.

But it's not the first time he has changed his failing experiment at half time to good effect. Newcastle away was a better second half even though we lost in part due to Kulu as ST. People claim it is good management to change it and it is to an extent, but against top teams there is no free half of football.

Looked good today in the 2nd half. Now let's see if we can get some consistency in the coming games. We got palace, villa and ipswich coming up. 9 points needed in this stretch. Prove me wrong Ange. COYS.

Im still super worried that Ange waits too long to make changes, and today’s result against a weak team at home might not be the catalyst for the change from Spursy=shit to Spursy=awesomeness
Fkn love the win and against the spam even better
Just praying to the great spaghetti monster that it is a true shift for us now

Why is it every time we win at home it’s against a weak team? We can only beat what’s in front of us and West Ham have some top players.

One win isn’t going to convince people that he will succeed. BUT… he did make a tactical change at HT and it worked. I felt, especially after Brighton he wasn’t good enough for this league. Maybe he will prove me wrong and I really hope he does.

He’s earnt some time and kudos today. No one should try to bring that down.

Making a change at half time isn’t soon enough for you ?
