Not sure how a manager that is five points off second spot, has the second best goal difference, in the quarters of the League Cup, and in ok position to qualify in top 8 for Europa League, all while having a rebuilding team with the third average youngest age, while beset with injuries has such a large portion of this forum looking to hang him.

Sure he’s had issues, especially with consistency, this year but not worthy of being fired. Could easily see a leap in the new year
We're 6 points down on last season at 13 games
We're 6 points down on the season before with Conte losing his job before the end of that season.
We're 1 point down on the season before that and Nono had already lost his job
We're 5 points down on the season before that with Mourinho losing his job before the end of that season.
We're 3 points ahead of where we were in 19/20 with Mourinho replacing Poch and winning the 13th game (his first)

So how many points we are off which ever team you pick is irrelevant. There's only been one season in the last 5 where we were worse off than we are now. The only season out of all of them where the coach didn't lose his job was last season, with this coach, who has taken less points than nearly all of his predecessors by match 13.

I'm starting to grasp everyone's hatred of ENIC & Levy and their lack of buying top notch players, BUT...if it's a result based business, why is the majority on here so negative about 2 draws?

Imagine if we'd had six losses in a row like Citeh?

Barring more injuries, I still think this team & manager can succeed.

Serious question. Did you support Spurs before Ange came?
And will you continue to support Spurs when he's gone? Be that in the next few weeks, months, next season, whenever.

You clearly do not grasp the expectation levels here, do ya ?

YES - playing Europa League home game against side like Roma, draw = loss. Before that game we had won 10 Europa League home games in a row. It was total shit result.
YES - playing Fulham at home and finishing with 1 point absolutely is a loss, there is even no question about it
OK

The cup - It starts off full but empties out very quickly! 😂😂😂
The optimist in me says we'll get the last sip😁

As I posted before, I didn't support any team before Ange came.
But now I'll support Spurs whether Ange goes or not. I don't swap sides.
So you're saying you didn't know much/anything about us beforehand?
You had no emotional attachment to the club or the history. No experience of what happens to coaches when it becomes obvious to Levy we aren't going to get into Europe or are going backwards?

Because a lot of what people say about Ange getting the sack isn't entirely about what they/we want. What every Spurs fan wants is for whatever coach we have to succeed.
But we all know that when things are going badly, the coach get's the sack.

I can't really think of a coach that didn't deserve the sack for one reason or another. The timing was terrible for some though. Jol at HT. Mourinho a week before a final. Conte with only 10 games left and his contract up anyway.

I new fuck all. Didn't even follow the EPL.

When I was a teenager in the 70's, you didn't hear anything about the EPL except maybe the results in the paper on the following Monday. No TV. No Radio.

The last, what 10-15 years, that's all changed.

But now I'm starting to like it so I'll stick around.

In the 70's it was division 1. Even in the late 80's and early 90's it was still D1. The interesting thing is that it wasn't very heavily televised even then. There were times when football games would stop at HT and the BBC would put snooker on. It wasn't the money driven sport now, where TV companies are making teams kick off at 8.15pm on a Thursday to get as many games on TV as possible.
It's gone from one extreme to the other. There was a happy medium in the PL between 92 and the early 00's really. Now teams are forced to play 9 games in 1 month because.....money. And that's probably why it's bigger abroad in the last 20 years too, TV companies squeezing even more money from teams.

Infuriatingly for us domestic fans, a lot of overseas countries can watch every single game, yet games like Fulham were not broadcast here. So the core fans either miss out or have to stream it "illegally"

Players want the money though, don’t they.

Like last year Virgil complaining about the number of games, but doesn’t want a drop in pay.

Tbf it’s been made worse by the Nations League etc but apparently playing for your country is the pinnacle. According to Kane. 😅

I agree this is a very challenging period for Ange. And I’m sure he’s not quite used to the negativity so soon from the supporter base. He’s always been a project based manager. It will be bitterly disappointing to Ange the sentiment as that would have been the vision he sold to Levy. I’m pretty sure he’s down on confidence at the moment. Reading/hearing all this negative shit is a massive red flag to the toxicity of the club.
In saying that, I know Ange and I still back him to turn this around. He just needs some luck with injuries, a bit more professionalism from the players and to learn from his mistakes. Which he will.
He still won’t be pragmatic. He’ll still attack. He’ll still instill an entertaining way of play. Because one thing he’s not scared of is getting the boot. He wants to leave a legacy. He wants to leave the club in a better place. I know some of you here will scoff at that Deuterz Deuterz . But that is truly the way he rolls.

Of course.

We just find ourselves needing to utilise it because of injuries and not supporting the manager properly. Again.

There is a lot of luck involved.

That's not to say some of our issues aren't down to poor planning - had we bought a Dragusin last summer we wouldn't have needed to but him in the winter, but losing both your start CBs at the same time as well as both our strikers for example, there is only so much planning that you can do for that.....

Either way, in the last few seasons we have bought in decent options in January

The negativity from the supporters? Fuck that. Up til last week we were still singing his name in the stadium with that dumbass song. Sunday was the first time I've ever not heard it in the stadium.

He's playing with the big boys now. Sure managing Celtic has pressure, but it still comes with no viable opposition. Managing Spurs is a whole new ball game. Not only are there teams who have budgets bigger than ours, the teams with smaller budgets can still attract the odd world class player.

The job also comes with the baggage of almost 30 years of failure, now that's not Anges fault and it's unfair that Ange has to bear the brunt but it's what it is. Ange has only had 18 months of struggling here but we've had 30 years and at some point we're going to vent. And the stadium is where it's going to happen. As for the moaning in here? I'm sure Ange has never logged into TFC, so that's not going to bother him.

He can't feel sorry for himself.

Through to the keeper.
But thank you for your input.

Players could play the same number of games over a slightly longer season with less chance of burn out/serious injury.
I can only really assume that we (UK) stop in May and don't play through June and July is because it's too hot. I know, I know, we're not a hot country, but it still gets to 30+ for a few weeks a year.
I still think that could be negated with early evening kick offs. If we started the season in early August and ended it in late May then we wouldn't need to play so many games month to month.
It might also stop greedy cunts like Levy flogging them off to Australia and Korea for money friendlies in the off season.

He definitely won’t feel sorry for himself. Ange is a man of conviction and if it doesn’t come off he won’t be perturbed. Disappointed yes.

Wonder what Villa fans are saying about Emery

GdzypRUW4AAS7Ke

I have absolutely no idea why Villa have fallen off a cliff so badly....

But it is funny that some fans were signing Ange's praise when we beat them, but also now criticizing Villa/Emery
Either we beat a good team/manager or we didn't. It can't be both.

It certainly is challenging but Ange has to bear some of that responsibility. He doesn't get a free pass. Project based manager or not, 18 months is a long time in football and there has been little to no benefit realisation if you stick to the project analogy. In fact, you could argue we are stagnant or going backwards as we show no signs of learning from any of the past mistakes. Every now and again his team will turn into prime 81/82 Brazil but more often than not they look bang average. I'm neither Ange in or Ange out as I have become so apathetic towards him. He will be gone at some point in the next 18 months. If the ground becomes toxic towards DL then it will be sooner rather than later. Then the cycle resets... meet the new manager, same as the old manger.
