Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Let's not forget Ange made Son captain, didn't agree with it then, don't now. He is not captain material sorry to say. You can't have a player who is passed his best and shouldn't even be starting regularly, who is not a natural leader, to be captain. That is on Ange, another baffling decision.

It’s because he’s a nice bloke & that’s probably the problem with us

I wonder how “ well liked “ Roy Keane or Bryan Robson were ? Respected , absolutely but I doubt they ere everyone’s mate

I can’t even take any pleasure in lashing out at the perpetually wrong anymore!! It’s reached that sad point where I actually just feel sorry for Ange.

Told you so doesn’t even really cover it at this point!
you'll be ok. Todays news, fish & chip paper etc ..as they said. I wouldn't feel too sorry. Just maintain the 'blue steel ' look and it will be sweet as..

A few times Ange has had a go at fans. Its like the top brass are out of touch with fans and think we are toxic. Weve won 2 carabao cups in 25 years which is unacceptable. As a fan expect a trophy every 5 years as grew up as a kid watching tottenham like that and play good football. With the prices the club charge. Not value for money.

For me this is 100% on Levy and not Ange. Not many managers in world football could cope with so many injuries and such a weak squad with European football. We need to spend 60% of revenue on salaries (we currently pay about 45%). That would give us 4 x £300k per week superstars on top of current squad. End Werner's loan. Sell Dragusin. Cancel Reguillon's contract. De-register Richarlison until properly fit (and then sell him). Buy 4 peak age superstars. Compete.

Did Levy go around Hotspur Way with a baseball bat? "Nice hamstrings you've got there, shame if something were to happen to them..."

Levy carries the can ultimately. Of course he does. But to assign absolutely 0 responsibility to Ange? Like none at all?

Why is he even here in that case?

I see your Mason and raise you Sherwood

Look at those hand gestures

One of my issues with Ange is how much he tows the company line. Said he was happy with summer transfer business and he would rather have two £50m players instead of one £100m player.

Jealous of rivals who see a gap in their team and fill it with a "superstar". See Allison, Van Dijk and Declan Rice.

Scum go for rice and we go for £30m bissouma.

You said you have supported every manager in your lifetime until the very end. You’ve never wanted one sacked. I believe you but it’s a strong statement and a very rare outlook.

So I was asking (maybe a bit facetiously - apols) if that same support applies to the chairman who hires and fires them all.

You implied - stated in fact - that being a supporter means backing your club through thick and thin. So I just wondered if that also applies to the guy who runs the whole thing.

It’s a fair question surely..

I neither support nor call for the head of Levy. Unlike many on here, I don't work myself into a lather over the bloke. Why? Because there's absolutely nothing I can do about how he runs the club.

It's not that difficult to understand that supporting the club means supporting the playing staff primarily, which includes the manager and coaches.

The Chairman doesn't even figure in my thinking as a supporter. Having said that, the one and only time I've called for a head to roll at Tottenham, was Scholar's, because he almost killed my club. Levy isn't even close to that level.

Surprised the people on here is not pointing their fingers more on the players. Why are they letting away so easy? Where are their pride , giving a showing like that?

Yesterday was a new low, but neither are our manager clueless, or the players in general incompetent. We strolled just a couple of games back, and destroyed City in their own backyard.

Bournemouth just seemed to want it so much more than us yesterday. Embarassing night it was, due to our lack of fight.

Still think we will bounce back, and make a way better shift, vs Chelsea. Why? This is how we are nowadays, extremely inconsistent.

A young spine and injuries, part of the explanation, but failing when we need to deliever is unfortunately not new when it comes to Spurs. This mentality is what Conte adreessed, and needs to change going forward.

It is quite simple really.

People focus on things we can change.
We cannot offload 20 players and get 20 new players in during season.

But it is possible to change the manager. Whose job it is to get players focused and motivated.
Not 100% ofc, meaning players DO carry responsibility of turning up. But once more - it is just factually impossible to change all the players.

Also there are so simple ways to manage players better. Like for example in Europa League game - start Bergvall. DO FUCKING NOT run Kulu to the ground. He worked like crazy in City game, so it was the simplest possible decision to start Bergvall vs Roma. This rotation and in EL games had worked quite well so far. But no. We had to start and play until the end important trio of Solanke, Kulusevski AND Porro.

What happened as a result ? Result was still fucked. Solanke missed next game. Kulu was unable to start (and has been absolutely cooked since then too - both against Fulham and Bournemouth), and Porro being totally toast vs Fulham (and unable to start yesterday).

We sold Hojbjerg who was a superb squad player and a Mr.reliable who would always do a job when he came in. I understand selling him but we replaced him with Archie Gray who we are using as a back up right back because we also sold Emerson without replacing him and the club clearly don't rate Spence as an able back up. We pretty much replaced Lo Celso with Bergval too which doesn't feel like an upgrade so far.

We needed this injury crisis to realise that our overall squad is actually probably worse than last season.

It was obvious in the summer it was worse

Possession doesn't make football more entertaining
its aggression that makes liverpool fairly entertaining. we play with two wide forwards who have about as much testosterone as a schoolgirl. i feel sorry for our midfield, unless its to solanke its a pass to some feeble wide player whos going to do fuck all. must be draining for them mentally and physically.

this guy has an absolute catalogue of errors that indicate hes sooo out of his depth and theres still morons saying give him time hahahaha. how can you be so fucking slow and oblivious to something so fucking obvious! they must be struggling in most things in life if they are this slow.

Actually thin van der ven would be a good captain. Leads by example.

No he wouldn't. Doesn't stay fit for long enough.

Son has done okay but he is not going to scare you into l playing better.

We don't have a leader and the one player (Hjojberg), who at least would put his fist to the hand and remonstrate was moved on, without being replaced.

But regardless of all this, and we can talk all day long about what players Postecoglou supposedly would want, who are always better in absence, the bottom line for me, is now that I don't believe anyone thinks Postecglou has what it takes.

Same as Ten Hag as mentioned by someone else, so it's when and not if at this stage.

Shame but this could get worse if left unchanged.

I have dismissed Sunday from the equation. Cnut club will swot us away with ease, which might be the last act.

He didn't have a wealth of choices. The captain ideally is going to be a player who gets close to 90 minutes a game and with rotation and a young squad that doesn't describe many players. Probably it would be Son, Romero, or Viccario and two of them are out. Maddison's playing time isn't consistent. Put another way, there would have been controversy if it wasn't your star player who has been on the team for so long.

Playing Spence for a couple of games in pre-season and then getting him to sign a new contract was a dick move if we're now unwilling to play him at RB or even LB when the opportunity arises. The guy was showing real hunger when he got his chances.

Why is there a narrative going around now that our problems are because of injuries?
Our form has been mediocre to poor since the chavs game last season and we’d been racking up loads of losses before these past couple of weeks.
Anyone hoping that we’ll suddenly become a top team once we get a few players back is going to end up disappointed I think

I can only talk about my mates, so anecdotal, but most of them turned following his comments after last season’s City game. He’s a very strange fella. Reasonably confident that he’s an old school bully. Obviously hates anyone disagreeing with him.

Still think he’ll get a good reception on Sunday.

Sorry to dissapoint you but Ange isnt getting to May. The team is being booed off most weeks, they've started on Levy and we're 10th with Chelsea and Liverpool 2 of our next 3 league games. We've already hit the untenable phase.

No idea what Levy will do, quite probably cheap out again, but he acts when things get uncomfortable. Always has.
Depends, battling point against Chelsea followed by 3 wins on the spin against a Championship standard Rangers, Championship bound Southampton and beating United in the cup - and the noise will die down again.

Liverpool will pump us, but there is a decent run of games after that. Forest away - we’ve beaten them in the Prem every game since they came back up, Wolves at home - bogey side in recent years but really shit this year, Newcastle at home - winnable. Then potentially a 2 legged cup semi and Tamworth in the FA cup.

It’s not the most daunting run
