There is still middle ground there. We are not title/top4 contenders because of Levy, which is obvious. But, we should still sit comfortably at least in top 8. And that's more on Ange imo. And the fact we lost to CP, Ipswich, lost points with Leicester. Table is flat and we can jump quickly. We reach higher position - everyone will be on Levy back only again. Untill then, pressure should be on Ange as well
I have no issue with anything you’ve said there.

I’m just not interested in being Top 8 enough to sack a manager if we aren’t in the top 8 in December. Especially not when we have 10 first team players injured and still have the 3rd best goal difference. Plus, almost all of the games were dropped points we could easily have got a better result. None of the games we’ve won were ever close to being anything but a win.

If we were getting grilled then maybe but at our best, we are 100% a team able to beat anyone in the Top 4. We just need Ange and the players to be that team consistently.

Bench? Easy. Most of our first choice 11 are at least good enough to make their benches. A few are good enough to start for some of them.

Vicario is better than Onana but the other top teams have better keepers. Liverpool are also blessed with arguably the best back up keeper too.

Romero would probably start for all of them, but they all have at least one CB better than him. Madders and Deki are elite. You start struggling after that. Maybe Micky but his strength is is pace. He’s wank in the air.
People are still defaulting to thinking our players are bad.
I'd bet my arse they all look better after they leave or we change to the next manager. As long as Levy doesn't totally dick that up. Which he may.

I am Ange out (since Chelsea match) but credit where credit is due, we do get a few thrashing under him where we look the business. Very entertaining game yesterday and badly needed. I won’t get my hopes up at going on a run but I really enjoyed last night.
When we play an out of sorts/form team, who try to play their own way, we carve them open,
Anyone with a plan or currently in form, we struggle/lose.

It's as binary as that.

Leicester - stuck to the plan, got a point, almost won it.
Everton - shite, tried their own game, got thrashed.
Newcastle - in form at the time, played their game perfectly, won without much of a scare
Arse - as above
Brentford - we beat them in a 15 minute spell and they have the worst away record in 2024
Man United - tragically bad under ETH and 10 men
Brighton - 2nd half was as bad as I've seen from us, but they blew us away
West Ham - shite, been talking about sacking their manager all season
Palace - totally bossed us
Villa - went 2 months without a win
Ipswich - totally bossed us
Man City - PL's biggest laughing stock and in Southampton-esq form
Fulham - bossed us, should have won
Bournemouth - bossed us, should have won by more than 1
Chelsea - gave us a head start and still hammered us
Southampton yesterday. Anyone taking solace from beating that is sad. They are pathetic.

That's probably where we have different positions - Ange's team ceiling in long run. I'm just afraid he will be tactically outmatched more times than less - especially when our rival is focused on countering our setup, rather than forcing their way of play. I dont believe we will see consistent run of games like we have against Manchesters. Hope i'm wrong, will see.

Hey Ange outers, let me ask you a question, do you celebrate goals and wins knowing that you want the manager out?

I'm sure the players will look better under someone who can and will play to their strengths in tactics.

They'd also look better if they weren't run into the ground already with half a season to play. Everyone looks tired. But Ange knows no other way to play and there's no one else who can be rotated in thanks to Levy, so the better ones getting all the minutes are the worse off for it.

It's not a defense of Levy but I don't think you can play the way Ange plays at this level without having a massive team, and we'll never have that because Levy wants to finish 6th with the least required investment.

The manager and club are simply not a match for that reason.

Begrudgingly. Like oh yey a goal! And then oh shit, yeah that guy who has us mid table will stay on longer now. And we likely get dicked by Liverpool and lose to Forest. But this is fun I guess, before the inevitable. Cos not good enough.

That’s my exact thought process.

But you do realise we aren't sacking Ange this season? I tried to warn you about this weeks ago. It'll be assessed in the Summer unless things go very very wrong and we have to do the Ryan Mason thing again. So whats the point being against Ange this season? Cheer on the team and if we finish midtable and win nothing then he will be replaced in the Summer.

Some of your posts are actually quiet good and you show a bit of knowledge and understanding of the game. Its just a shame that you can't get to grips with the fact that Ange is getting this season

Given this an "agree" despite, as you know, not being an "Ange Outer".

However, if I were an "Ange Outer" this is exactly how I imagine my thought processes would run. And fair enough to.

I don't think any manager is ever guaranteed a season. I have no doubt the club intend to weather the storm and keep him here. Managers are almost always a few terrible results from the sack, unless they're goldplated like Pep is. Maybe we have suddenly decided to be ultra patient but I'm surprised at the total faith you have.

To be clear, I never want us to lose a game. And if I was in the stadium I'd be cheering us on, not turning round and going "but we want Ange sacked!'. On here isn't a 'support' thing for me, it's an express your opinion thing. I don't feel the need to cheer on the team on TFC because I hope to fucking god not a single one of the team comes near this place.

I do think its likely he sees the season out so it isn't like I'm waiting on his sacking. I also think that if he'd lost that Southampton game he'd be a follow up loss to Utd in the league cup away from the sack. Levy would see top 6 up in flames and only one source of a trophy left and would panic.

Far be it from me to answer on behalf of Deuterz but he doesn't rate Ange Postecoglou and never has so why should he be forced to pretend to "support" him just because the Owner won't (you hope) sack him barring calamity?

The only thing that will move the needle is Spurs going on some sort of incredible run in the league or, perhaps, winning one or two cups. With the best will in the world neither of those things are particularly likely but if they DO happen then results will define opinion on the manager - as they do when we go shit 🤷‍♂️

The league cup probably wouldn't turn me. I'd be fucking ecstatic and probably develop a cult like soft spot for him but it wouldn't make me think he was now a great coach.

If the man wins the europa league I'll make the fucker my profile picture and love him for life. If he recovers this form and achieves top 4 I'll be fucking impressed and re-assess as well.

Ultimately what people are asking is I either a) change my deeply held opinion on a whim or b) act like that isn't my opinion. Which people should know by now is never, ever happening FFS.

You can be a Spurs fans and point out our problems.
This idea that supporting a football club means you have to live in constant denial is nonsense.
Probably depends on your personality. I can't see your side but you can't see my side so fair enough.

Most my friends are Woolwich, United and Liverpool fans so I always felt it was my duty to stand up for Spurs and never complain about them. I chose to support them. They are my football club and almost like a family member, I'd stick up for them no matter what anyone said.
