The point is that you can pick and choose any games but the tactic doesn’t work if Spurs play well. United did it and battered them.Why select only Villa and Newcastle matches?only this season: Ipswich did this. Woolwich did this. Fulham, Bournemouth as well. You could count Leicester. CP was different though - they ate us with their press and physicality. And with Brighton we just had bad half.
And lets play differently - who played their game no matter what against us? Brentford (and comical ball movement on their half while playing from the back). City, United, Soton yesterday - even on this clip pasted recently you saw how deep we lured them and created spaces behind, because they pressed our defenders.
Villa game and Everton were pleasant surprises to me. West Ham as well.
I agree we should have our own style and we have it. We just need to be more efficient in tweaks when opponent plays in the way that does not suit us. Because im sure mid and low table clubs will play like Woolwich or Ipswich, not like City or Soton. And we lose league because of results with bottom 10. Wolves and Forest will be good test, waiting for that matches with bigger curiosity than for Pool game.
I agree that we need to be better at executing the tweaks when teams do that though.

We will do this against Liverpool and it will work several times in the game. We did it in the home game last year.
That’s if Liverpool even press us. This season they play more like a Jose Mourinho team than a Klopp team.
That’s where we differ and that’s cool. Personally, I think it’s about us 9/10.
I haven’t seen the Chelsea game but them and Liverpool are the two teams who I’d expect would be able to dictate the game to us and decide how well we play.
Your question seems rooted more in provocation than genuine curiosity tbh.
But of course we celebrate goals and wins. Supporting the team and wanting the best for the club doesn't require blind allegiance to the current manager. Football opinions aren’t rigid; Ange can win people over—but it will take more than sporadic thrashings of teams; consistency is key.
A win here or there might spark joy in the moment, but it doesn’t address the underlying concerns about structural issues, tactical coherence, or our long-term direction. Even winning a cup wouldn’t automatically cement Ange as the right man for the job; it would be a HUGE step in the right direction but not definitive proof long term (was Ramos?) Sustained results, proper development, and a clear winning identity over time are what truly change opinions.
So yes, we celebrate goals and wins—because we’re Spurs fans. But that doesn’t mean we suspend critical thought or overlook deeper issues that have yet to be resolved. Perhaps the better question is, why frame something so obvious as though it’s incompatible with wanting improvement for the club? It seems a touch biased, wouldn’t you agree?
We'll see. Personally, while it might look fun against an abject Soton, I don't think that amount of playing around near our goal is the cleverest thing to do.
Yesterday's result was pleasing since, it had been a while ago from the previous win.
But reality check, this was a poor team we faced and, a side similar to ours who give you time and space to play.
Apart from the first 10 games of last season, it has been hit and miss , both good and woeful performances on a regular basis.
Not convinced the manager's ethos or tactical set up will work in this league, but for him and the team it was a welcome relief.
Transfer window is literally around the corner, not expecting much if anything to happen unless, a loan or out of contract option is available for the club to purchase.
Usually after a win, it's followed up with a shit performance so, this week should be interesting if past results are anything to go by.

Nothing has really changed for me. I still want Ange gone. That said, if he can put a run of good results together, nobody will be complaining. That is a big if though.
Yesterday in isolation doesn't prove anything we didn't already know. We are a terribly inconsistent side. We can turn up and batter teams, but we are also liable to get turned over. The whole issue, is that Ange only plays one way, and we know when it works it is fine, but often it doesn't work. This is why we have a huge GD but not many points. Because we batter teams when it goes well, but we are a soft side who easily gets turned over when it doesn't go our way.
I also can't get away from the feeling that we seem happy and able to put away passive teams, like City are, and United were under ETH, and Southampton are, but as soon we come up against teams who are at it and on their game, we struggle.
At the end of the day Ange isn't ever going to change, and his style of football just won't lead to success in the PL. He is tactically found wanting etc etc I remain entirely sure that Ange needs to go and he isn't the man to take us forward and I am not swayed by these results when it clicks.
Thursday is a huge game, he needs to win. A loss would be catostrophic to our season.

Yeah most of the time he was but as I said don't the the lighting was that clever... Balanced ISH but Glary and far to bright..
Oh they will eat us alive but because I'm not mad like his deciples and can see both sides of an issue...they always do so that's not really an Ange thing.
Agree, we always get done by Liverpool. Last season under Ange was our only win in years.

Ange “outers” hmmm. I’d like to see pragmatism from him. An ability to accept that his style needs to adapt to be consistent in this league. An acceptance that flat track bullying might work in Scotland but this is different.
If he can do that and enhance some of the breathtaking forward play with defensive nous when needed, I’ll be Ange in but at the moment I’m not seeing it. I don’t believe I will see it. That’s why I’m Ange out. I hope he proves me wrong.
