Said before I am just about onside with Southgate if the contract was structured right. Namely directly incentivizing him to win the Europa League, so a 6 month contract that automatically renews for a further 2 years if we win the Europa League and are not relegated. Otherwise the club have an option, but not an obligation, to renew and can walk away for free if we so choose.

I think we'd be shite with Southgate, but if he won the EL that's all that would matter. Winning the EL is paramount at this point. Unlikely, but it's the most important thing we can do (and always was, but has only grown moreso).
Bonkers. Never happening

Its incredible given that apparently one of the reasons they rightly didnt want Ten Hag in June 2021 was that he didnt want to bring any coaches with him and they thought that was weird. Then this bloke turns up with a few randoms he's picked up at motorway service srations on the way down and we're all over it. I guess that proves first and foremost he's a salesman, not a coach.
One of the reasons for us not going for Ten Hag was apparently that he did not impress in the interviews. Which Ange probably did because as you said, he's a salesman.

At this point I'd honestly consider giving Ten Hag a go because surely he cannot do worse?

Did was I was just about there.

My preferences have been stated repeatedly.

  1. Iraola
  2. Silva
  3. Frank
  4. Mason until the end of the season
  5. Potter
  6. Southgate on a 6 month contract that renews if we win the EL and fucks him off if we don't.

I am pretty similar tbf but would have a 0 after Southgates number.

Not even any comedy value with him. Just a drybread with the personality and tactical nous of a pube.

Levy is not the best. But levy certainly didn’t build a squad that’s lower mid table.

Any squad missing players like Vicario, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie, Davies, Bentancur, Odobert, Richarlison for significant portions of the season, with Solanke, Bissouma and Johnson also now joining the injury list, would not finish top 8.

Ange is just the latest manager to fail. Levy is the constant reason all managers fail.

I'd probably have 100 managers on my list ahead of him, but none that I think are available.

I would probably hire Erik ten Hag over him, if it were my call, honestly.

But out of the available likely options, that's how I'd rank them. Anything is better than another day of Ange.
