That is an excellent point tbf, just like horses, maybe our players are each suited to different ground conditions? Sarr is Senegalese, so because of the very hot, dry conditions he was brought up with, he's more suited to firm ground perhaps? We obviously can't change the ground to suit each player, and this is thinking out in left field quite a bit, but instead of maybe signing an up and coming world class player this transfer window, we could hire a world class up and coming podiatrist?! Just some food for thought!:freund:

The underlying problems that led us into that rut haven't been solved and can never be and will never be under Levy's leadership, but Ange was a breath of fresh air in a room that didn't appear to have any windows to open when he arrived.

You're doing that classic revisionism thing again when looking at players of the past and comparing them when they were at their peak as opposed to what they were at the time :D

Yeah the Cup Final lineup was decent but you forget we finished 11th that season...the squad was absolutely shit, King and Woodgate didn't even play that much as they were always injured, in fact the CB pairing was Kaboul and Dawson most of the time and they were a disaster lol, the full backs were crap, Lennon only scored like 3 goals that season lmao, Berbatov and Keane were obviously outstanding.

Tainio, Huddlestone (that season) and Bent were all average.
 
Solanke was an ironman at Bournemouth, what the fuck are we doing to our players?

I didn’t say you wouldn’t get another job or not win anything with another club did I .
The point I was making was , when a manager looks back on his time with us , there will be nothing to look back fondly of , except a large payoff for being sacked
