BTW Look at the team Juande Ramos had retrospectively and compare them to the team today...

CB Ledley King (c)

GK Radek Černý, DF Kaboul, MF Tainio, MF Tom Huddlestone, FW Darren Bent.

Fuck me, almost every single one of them then would walk into this side and improve it IMO (and I fucking hate JJ). How do we get a mega stadium, increase wealth, yet the quality drops so much? 🤔

Nah- maybe a couple of them “walk” into our side but most of those players would be at lesser clubs now. King, Lennon, Berbatov “walk” in. Maybe Keane too, but that’s about it.

That is an excellent point tbf, just like horses, maybe our players are each suited to different ground conditions? Sarr is Senegalese, so because of the very hot, dry conditions he was brought up with, he's more suited to firm ground perhaps? We obviously can't change the ground to suit each player, and this is thinking out in left field quite a bit, but instead of maybe signing an up and coming world class player this transfer window, we could hire a world class up and coming podiatrist?! Just some food for thought!:freund:
Increasingly teams are maintaining a constant press, where in the past they had different types of press they used depending on the situation in the game. Teams could back off at some points during games and gather themselves and take reduced fatigue and injuries. Often teams simply could get a breather kicking the ball downfield to take off the pressure. If you play with the same intensity, all game every game, there's an injury risk that comes along with it. Spurs aren't Man City in terms of having the depth to gives players games off. The BBC article yesterday quoting a Postecoglou training staffer from Celtic, also noted he was frequently taking players off after 60 minutes. That won't fly in the Premier League.

Not if we sack him next week!

He doesn’t seem to trust the youth players to give them a run out either. Must be a great confidence boost for them!

You think a different manager would miraculously clear up the injuries if we stay in 4 competitions?

What a new manager would probably do is sack off the Cups and Europe to focus on the league position. If they did that, maybe injuries start clearing up. But tbh they should start clearing up from next week anyway with Romero and VDV back in training.

Why not? 1 or 2 is ok and will at least run and compete unless weasels like BJ and Son

Lifts the crowd massively

Okay

What youth players are you thinking and why would they be able to come in and be able to lift the team? What makes you so sure that these players would come in and turn the clubs fortunes around?

I’m not sure they turn around fortunes but they will likely add some effort and energy, which lifts the crowd. Right back and CM

Can it be worse than our current trajectory? Be brave

So just pull some random names out the hat then and just play them for pure vibes, nice.

From NYT article about our injuries:

- Former Head of Medicine and Sports Science Geoff Scott fell out with Ange after they had an argument about how to manage the squad's workload and the recovery of injured players

- Micky and Romero only completed a couple of training sessions before Chelsea. Medical staff held reservations about Micky starting vs Chelsea, but he started only meant to play 60. He went on to stay on for 79 mins and get a re-occurrence of that same injury.

- Romero only trained the day before the game, and with a significant hamstring injury like he suffered, there were questions whether he should actually start
