He made a point when he joined that he didn't want to get too close on a personal level with players, which I get. But to not talk to them at all seems a bit extreme.
Especially in an era were players need more of the arm around the shoulder approach than ever.

There's more exposure, more pressure, more eyes on the sport than ever before. And thus on the players. Players in modern football need a manager that they can connect with and talk to.

i'm not saying that a manager cannot be strict in today's football. But they need to be approachable and not closed off from their own players.

i think he's gone after sunday. we'll have a week to let mason and the boys get set up. it's prob wishful thinking but i don't think levy is going to let the rot spread any further. i think he wanted to let him coach the semi just to blunt any criticism like he got with the jose final but it's done now. villa will put us to the sword and he'll be gone.
Yeah, I kinda feel he will be gone if he lost the Villa game. Then the new interim manager will just be focusing on the league table to be as as high as possible and laser focus on the Europa. A week for the new coaches to prep for United.

And I don't want any of the remnants from the current coaches.

Of course we should cut him some slack because of the injury list. It has been horrendous and any PL teams’ results would have suffered to some degree with something akin to it.

However, the one area I had some optimism for Ange in, at the time he was appointed, was that this was the man who was going to overhaul the culture in our club and drive us on to future success by completely changing the mentality of players & coaches and so on. Even though he never came from an elite footballing background — he was older, maybe wiser, articulate enough, and would have the minerals to bring about the changes.

After 18 months or so, I would have expected to see some green shoots regarding the tougher mentality and I’m not seeing any of this from players who were here before he arrived. If this was one of his strengths and a main platform for his appointment, it hasn’t worked. Coupled with his poor tactical nous, poor use of subs, game management etc — he really isn’t up to it.
the problem is he is a fraud who doesn't know shit about higher level football. everything else is salesman's nonsense. it's all built on the shifting sands of his bullshit

They should -

I mean - lol - surely no one can think it isn't after seeing what Chelsea did, let alone City - how is this news to anyone?

People get sucked in because it is a cultural and social ritual - something that is deep-rooted in all of us - a tradition, a pastime - it's all a con that uses people's emotional connection to a thing (football club) and how our brains are wired when it comes to storytelling and narratives....

Like, its not that hard to manipulate the masses, especially when it comes to the offer of an 'escape from real life' like with sport, when all the while the entire thing is designed to make frankly obscene amounts of money off us.

I know all of this and i watch every week and talk to people about it all the time..... but i stopped actually letting results and whatever get to me..... i have no control over it, and those that do are 99% of the time the people who have the most money and are using that money for their own betterment.
The only good thing that came out of last night was talking to a fellow sufferer who feels exactly the same as me about this Club, but wish we didn't. The reminiscing of watching us in the 80s was off the scale.
The ones I feel for are the supporters who do the away league games as well. As disappointing as yesterday was (and Sunday will likely be), I'm not putting myself through it every week.

Surely even sweet Daniel will believe that if we lose to Villa, going out the Europa is a certainty unless the coach is changed ?

It’s hard to say, Levy seems to have gone soft in the head. He has never been this accepting of shit results before.

It’s clear from our performances against the credible teams we played in the group phase (Roma, Rangers, Gala) that we will not be winning the tournament with Ange in charge but who knows what Levy is thinking? Ange is the worst manager he’s hired yet the one he’s most reluctant to sack. It’s bizarre.

Levy made a fool of himself saying we've got our Tottenham back after 10 games.

I wonder if Filippo Inzaghi's arm can be twisted. He's about one of the only managers I believe can make something of the team of Youngsters we have.

Here's why:

As I'm a massive tactics guy Inter Milan is part of Serie A - which is a completely different league which I watch a lot (i watch all the European Leauges I'm a Bayern Fan, Barca fan but I do watch Real Madrid games as I like Jude Bellingham although I'm neutral when it comes to Serie A.

Tactics on paper are great in theory Ange Ball is also very interesting in implementing a double diamond tiki-taka with lots of transitions this is why you have CBs & LBs up front sometimes which does involve high intensity from players just like Inter's System is as well - Ange Ball & Inzaghi ball are very similar in the fact they HAVE to use players who are comfortable & fully trained who are fully fit to pull off. But they are also predictable to a point this is another reason why I think Pep's very heavy use of Cryuff tactics have been found out recently.

Inter Milans style/system albeit interesting isn't itself without flaws as they lost 3-0 to Florentina yesterday. It takes a manager who can adapt to other teams system this is why Mourinho was an amazing tactician :-

In these videos he takes you step by step his decisions
