Ange talk about negative media is just a massive red herring. He’s had the media firmly up his arse for 2 years. The media love-in was unlike anything iv ever seen before when he first joined which was odd given he popped up out of nowhere and the media was already acting like he was a 5 time league title winner. There were songs about him and he had barely been at the club 5 minutes.

Giving AP to the end of the season or when/if we exit Europa makes some kind of sense inasmuch as it might make it less likely for any potential successors as manager to be put off the gig .

I was a young kid when we got beat by Coventry in the FA cup final and it hurt like hell. But believe me I can name you the team from Mitchell Thomas to Steve Hodge. The emotional investment isn't in Ange Postecoglou or any individual because it wouldn't survive the loss of Waddle or Gascoigne or Bale or Modric. It's an unbroken line that's bigger than the sum of the parts.
If we were to win the Europa I'd be estatic for Mrs Perryman and Nutter and Murphy and they would be happy for me that's what PerthPaul is really talking about when he talks about kinship he's confused it with the grandstanding of people who long knew Postecoglou was out of his depth but put their nationality and egos before the truth. But IF Ange progresses us in the Europa he will probably stay on until we either win it ( please God ) or we exit .
The only reason for ditching him with , say six games to go ; would be to get an inspirational interim who could perform miracles and get us Europa Conference ( at best ) ; what would be the point?
If any of the residents of the old folks home for retired Football Managers were that good ; they’d probably still be in the game.
Hypothetically; if Harry or Raffa Benitez , Hodgson et al could be parachuted in and instantly turn the volume up to eleven ; then I’d be all for it obvs .

I love your spirited defence of the club but ultimately the majority of the fanbase has been beaten to within an inch of it's life by Levy and so they take it out on one another. Levy doesn't even bother hiding his disdain for us anymore... he doesn't bother punching us, he just sticks his fist out and asks us to run into it and like lemmings we do. The 90 word statement that accompanied our recent financial results is proof ... i guess i'm in line with the caveat. i don't think the dinosaurs have anything special to offer but the removal of the ange shaped tumor would be a lift in my opinion. i don't think the majority of the squad have any love for him at all. i'm sure he's an utter cunt to them if they show any resistance to his methods at all. but i'll freely admit it may take more than a new manager bounce and few weeks of training to deprogram them from the way they play right now. it's fucked either way likely.

Your average NBA team uses hundreds of different 5 man lineups in a given season. Not starting lineups, but ones that have taken the court at some point during the season. It's inevitable that some of them will post crazy plus minus numbers, in fact every team probably has at least one lineup that stands above the rest. Does that mean all 30 teams will start winning at an extremely high rate if they just start using their standout lineups all the time?
