I can’t be arsed to think about or debate Ange’s future today , tomorrow or the next day. There will be plenty of time for that. Right now I am going to lie back and luxuriate in the comforting embrace of winning a trophy . Enjoy the fact that Woolwich choked and won nothing , revel in our trophy being far more prestigious than the Conference League and rejoice in the turmoil at Yanited .

As I said can’t be arsed with anything other than enjoying this long awaited feeling

It's a difficult scenario to reconcile at this point in time, as emotions are as high as they could ever be and, for me personally, it's created a real conflict.

It's far too soon to make an informed decision as I'm still buzzing from last night. I was up until the wee hours just watching and absorbing absolutely everything from the match to the post match videos, I even watched a video of our 3-2 win at OT in 2012 just to keep the vibe going.

Part of me wants him to stay to show that he's learnt and adapted. His post match presser put a lot of things into perspective, with him stating that he basically shelled the PL in favour of this trophy, so that part of me is wondering if he'll show the same adaptation in the next league campaign and, let's be honest, he's earned the opportunity to show that.

Ultimately though, the decision doesn't sit with us. All we can hope for, as fans, is that the right decision is made and that will only be seen after the fact.

If he is kept on, I truly hope he smashes the granny out of the league and proves every single doubter wrong. I want that almost as much for him as I do for the club. I honestly like the man and think he is genuine. I do love to see people like that get ahead in life.
I really worry that if Ange stays on then it'll be a huge reality check next season.
We're all swept up in the emotion at the moment as you say. However when we have time to analyse it all properly we'll all acknowledge that it was far from a vintage performance. To have one shot on target and only one touch in the opposition box during the second half is extremely poor, especially against the worst Man Utd team in decades.

I'm not saying his tactics were wrong because on the night Ange set us up exactly how we need to be to win the game.
Play like that against CL teams and it'll be a horror show for us though.

I'm torn, I have so much respect for Ange, he's trying to create a respectful, family orientated, winning culture at Spurs. Something we desperately need to adopt, especially in our fanbase. I just don't know if he's the right tactician to lead us into the strongest club competition in the world.

He's admitted he made a mistake with the recruitment and that cost us in the league. He's also said numerous times (including his interview after the full time whistle) that we have to target "experience" in the next window.

Watched the game when I got home and we basically shithoused a victory which I'm actually very happy about and didn't think Ange had it in him. Of course it was probably forced with the injuries to Kulu, Maddison and Bergvall but the tactical fouls, the defending deep when needed, the Danso sub, the solid foundation with a midfield 3 that were just too athletic for the United team....he's surprised me with the way he's adapted.

The thing with keeping him is that hes already said we need experience and I don't think he will allow Levy to buy more 'prospects' without voicing his objection publicly after the way this season has gone.

If we can secure a manager like Xavi or another big name who won't be hoodwinked by Levys attempts to buy 'prospects' I would still replace him but if it's these Silva type manager then.its probably not worth replacing, especially considering the squad genuinely seem to believe.

Last summer our targets in all the papers where Gallagher, Eze and Neto. All those targets sounds like they would perfectly suit Ange,, I highly doubt Ange would have wanted Odobert, Gray and Werner instead. If he is protecting the club then fine but I have been a Spurs fan too long to think that all the managers coming through the door suddenly want cheap or low wage signings.

We have to be rational about this. Ange cannot become our Ten Hag.

In the EL he showed a lot of flexibility and intelligence compared to the league where we looked dumb. I am a purist so I do really appreciate Ange wanting to play open attacking football but we don’t have elite out and out wingers, we don’t have midfielders that dominate consistently. We dont have the players for the high press, proper wingers, inverted full backs system of the elite level we need.

I have seen Ange against City or in the EL be flexible but it hasn’t been enough and along with the injuries has contributed to the awful league campaign.

My heart would like him to stay but my head says he should leave on a high note and not gamble than Ange will become less stubborn because if he doesn’t and we keep him it’s a mid season sacking and that would be sad.

I've decided you can make up your own captions for this one...

Box will probably be empty by the time he reaches his bike!

As wonderful as this feeling has been for us, we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that the European competitions are in fact a bonus. It is domestically where we need to demonstrate improvement, particularly now with the trophy drought monkey off our backs.

I wouldn't put to much emphasis on a shithoused cup final win. It was a set up focussed on getting over the line with the personnel we had available. The games leading up to the final were also more pragmatic, but they weren't shithoused, they were professional.

My hope is that we see this professional pragmatism a lot more in our domestic campaigns, my fear is that he won't.

Only time will tell, but that's for another time. Right now all I'm really interested in is enjoying the feeling of us being one of the Champions of Europe, and looking forward to facing whoever the other will be in the Super Cup.

I can’t help thinking back to the last manager who delivered us a trophy Juande Ramos in the League Cup in 2008. Even at the end of that season when he had only taken over in October from Martin Jol, there were rumblings as to whether he was the right man. 8 games into the following season, we were winless, 2 points from 24, we were bottom of the table and there was a parting of the ways.

Be interesing to see how many of these accounts were on here celebrating our biggest win in over 40 years last night?

Might click though all the accounts to see their recent posting history. TBF I think The Extra Mile(sey) The Extra Mile(sey) and TonySoprano TonySoprano are good guys who mean well and just think Spurs will be better off once Ange leaves.

But some of the others are just so miserable that they probably didn't even enjoy the win lastnight because fans like me would be happy!

I was on it all day and most of the night and was generally optimistic but admit to nearly shitting myself in the 7 minutes time added on at the end which went to 8 and a half!

But was delighted for the team and still buzzing today although nursing a hangover but the wardrobe in the spare room remained dry!!

I hope he goes but he leaves with a trophy and on a high .The league form for close to two seasons has been atrocious and the number of losses cannot be tolerated .I very much doubt we will do that much better in the league next season if he is in charge.
That's the way I'm leaning, I can see the temptation in this moment to stick with him, but I also can't escape the feeling that the more time is passing, the less and less our squad looks like they know how to play football.

Even last night, and despite missing all of our creative minded midfielders, all it would have taken to extend the lead was a little bit of composure and some very basic passing to open them up. The one time we didn't resort to just hoofing it, we created an opening (Udogie to Solanke).

Every league game we just cede the initiative to the opposition, there is no fluidity to our play, this supposed swashbuckling Angeball side simply does not exist, and there's been no evidence of it for a long time.

For Ange to stay and see any kind of success in future, there need to be major changes behind the scenes, significantly with the coaching set up. I'm not sure I can see him going for that myself.

So Ange was able to adapt in the cup, winning us the trophy despite only managing 17th in the league.

Fuck it. Let's finish 17th again and win the Champions League next season.

:ange-hmm:
